Heres a Z35 article. According to the article, aside from the engine, only the front is changing and the interior. I'm guessing the chassis might not change? So they're doing what they shouldve done 4 yrs ago with the interior and 2 yrs ago with the engine?
I dunno. But with the current Nissan issues I think Nissan is about to fvck this up. The Q60 is not a good car. If its gonna be a short Q60 with a sentra interior. it's not gonna do well.

Keeping it manual will be good.
But to really get sales, put a DCT in it.
The Z chassis needs to be Nismo stiff on the base car and the Nismo needs to be camaro or ATS-v or alfa romeo stiff.
They definitely wont change the chassis. That's why they were using the q60 engine in a 2009 z body. Plus it doesnt make sense cost wise to use a new chassis for 1 car. Especially a low volume car.
Plus nissan isnt doing good financially.
And the automatic tranny is a let down too. I dont know why they are using that vs a tiptronic or dct.
But their dct is outdated

The least they can do is lighten the steel while strengthening it and reinforce it.
The throw in a DCT...This 7 speed is outdated.

Too much time, cost and effort I assume.
Their 7 sp dct which the gtr uses is outdated.
The current auto tranny is a 9sp which doesnt make sense and definitely not as good in performance compared to other brands.

I dont know how well the new Z will compared to bmw supra. Bmws auto transmission is better than nissans.

Heres another publication.

The hardest part of this car is the transmission and the chassis. Let's just hope for the best. Maybe they can get a new tranny contract and outsource. I know the next GTR must be getting a new tranny.

It's a TOUGH market right now where big cars have small car agility. So the Z has to be a small car with supercar agility.

Would love a DCT in the Z, but probably too expensive, both to equip and maintain. Ask the BMW guys. The ZF 8 speed is almost as crisp, but smaller package, cheaper to maintain, and much smoother in stop-n-go situation. I’ll take that as a compromise.

The programming is probably the main reason why our 7at feel ancient too. BMW and Porsche figured out how to program a transmission for sports driving.

I do like a couple of those renderings though, would love to see more 240 in the design if they ever make a new one

The question is, let's hope they keep the wide,.low profile look.
But still, without a good auto transmission, that will be an issue, and 2 steps behind bmw supra

Agreed. Would guess the width etc. would be identical to the current car given its just a revamp. Here’s a questions. What will they call it? We’ve heard 400Z in reference to the hp amount. Why not just start calling them “Z”s.

Could care less about auto trans. Manual all the way! Won't buy a new Z if it doesn't have a manual available.

That rendering looks great and if that is just the refreshed look and not the new Z35, my question is how much ADM would be added to this? With cars like the Supra, GT500, GT350 and CTR - it seems like everyone is getting into the ADM game which sucks for all of us.

Do we know if there will be a manual trans - if that is the case - it would be hard to pass up on the refresh or maybe just keep what I have and save those pennies for the actual updated Z. Already wondering what tuning will be out there and how much more HP you’ll be able to get out of the stock engine. Regardless this is great news and is very exciting for those that want a new Z35.

They say there will be an option for a manual. But they need a better auto trans.
Regardless if you don't like it's the future. Especially if they want to keep up with similar cars.
