I am sad to read the Z is no longer a priority. Nissan has lost their way. I could give two craps about the GT-R because it's too expensive. While the hell would Nissan choose to give up on the typical sports car fan? If they want to sell more Z's, update the freaking thing already!

Infiniti Q60 Black S coming to challenge BMW M4, Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe

Report: Infiniti Q60 Black S coming to challenge BMW M4, Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe

"The head of Infiniti’s Australian division, Bernard Michel, has revealed to Drive that a production version of the concept was at an “advanced” stage.
And when asked whether the production green light was given to the car, Michel reportedly indicated yes."

I will believe it, when (and BIG IF) we ever see the Q60 Black S. I for one am already not a fan of the name, Black S. Kind of sounds like 'Black A$$'.

Yup, I think I'm done with Nissan and there nonsense. I really leaning towards buying my wife a Cadillac ATS-V.

x2. Even more laughable if they equip it with the same 7AT used in everything else in the Infiniti lineup. At least give it a DCT.

Sadly everything they've been doing over the past 2 years since Andy Palmer left Nismo North America has reinforced how unimportant the Z is to them and motorsports in general.
  • Andy Palmer leaves Nissan in 2014
  • Nissan delays the Z35
  • Nissan cuts funding to Doran Racing and all other teams running the 370Z in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Series in early December 2015.
  • Nissan hamstrings the GTR-LM Nismo Le Mans car before the race in June.
  • Nissan terminates the entire US based GTR-LM development team and racing team two days before Christmas 2015 via email. They had originally budgeted for a two year program but figured they'd cut it short by a year.
  • Rumors swirl about the Z35 over the next year, Nissan adds ASE and a Bumble Bee edition to the bountiful features offered by the Z34.
  • April 14 2017, Christian Meunier announces that "The 370Z is not a priority for us"

that 2018 whatever edition needs to be a joke. Feels like they are trying to do what american cars do and release different versions. That Z only has base brakes and its gonna cost around $38k. No one in their right mind will buy that thing.

Well tbh I don't think the Z its been a "priority" to Nissan for the past 5-6 years, seems like they were waiting for Mr. K to pass. RIP but I think they still MIGHT build a concept. I really don't think they know how they wanna build it at this point. Maybe the Q platform is too big but they don't wanna spend money to create another. Seems like they contradict themselves about the Z in different statements at least 3 times a year also. smdh

I can understand them not doing something different with the car for a few years, I think by the time 2014 rolled around I was like...so what's happening with the Z35? And then they just started pulling the plug on everything...5 years without anything new is a lot but wasn't excessive. They could have let us know then that it was over instead of leading us on for another 2 years. But, as I've stated before the signs were all there from 2014 onward.

I just spent nearly 3K for the CSC delete, clutch upgrade and tune. I'll continue to enjoy my Z34 for a couple more years and then see what options are available. But it sounds like it won't be a Z35... :-(

The "Cheese bucket" edition.

What I don't get is.... last month they were hyping up the concept for this fall.

No car company has been as shitty

I don't think I'll be buying a Z35 IF and when they release it. I'll keep my Z34 for awhile.

The Camaro wasn't a priority for GM for many years, in fact they dropped the Camaro from 2002-2010. GM learned from their stupid mistake how to properly prioritize. Seems Nissan is just way too busy designing the next 3 generations of Micras, Leafs and Sentras.
