We may not like what he's saying but there's nothing inherently fake about the article or the journalist.
While I agree with your comments, I disagree on the interpretation based on nothing more than my hope.

It's not uncommon for product planning guys to give off false vibes just before a new model is introduced. I really struggle with the idea that Nissan would announce the debut of a new Z concept for Tokyo in October while also planning to kill the line off.

Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer, is notorious for denying upgrades, changes and new models right up to their introduction. I've seen Toyota and Ford do the same.

The vast amount of cost in developing the car was accomplished with the Q60. I think (again based on hope) that the Z35 follows the introduction pattern of the Z34/G37 - Z introduction 6 - 12 months after Q introduction.

Again, this is based on nothing more than hope. I'm waiting to see what happens in October. If the Z35 looks like a winner, and more importantly a go, I'll wait for introduction. Otherwise, I'm picking-up a 2017/2018 Nismo Z34.

We have just over six months to find out.
