[OFFICIAL] Discussion for the next new Nissan 400Z Z35?

Great article and exactly how I feel about the current car. It's awesome and will be missed when it's gone. Still hoping for a new one though.

Old thread, but personally I'm hoping for the powertrain from the Q50 Red Sport 400 maybe even in a rear wheel drive format. It's GTR motor family 3.0l TT AWD 400 hp

As a new Z owner (still waiting for my Z to be shipped from the factory)...

I fully agree with the previous statements in regards to dying car enthusiasts amongst the younger generations. I was born in 87. When i was in high school and throughout my twenties all my peers were all about their cars and around town you would see nice cars or lower end cars with nicer modifications. We would all meet up in town parking lots and cruise the beach and stuff like that.

at 30 years old, I proudly ordered my 2017 NISMO Z knowing that I would stand out in the region of the states that I live. (From Boston)

You just don't see Z's up here.... and if you do.... it's extremely rare.

It's a dying breed... but I am happy to know I will own one and have it for many years to come.... (future garage queen Z)

i could rant on and on about this... but in a nutshell....

Long live the Z

Try going a bit more north.... all you see are the occasional 350Z. My 370Z definitely turns heads because there are very, very few around. It also has been called a 350Z on occasion, all the more reason to paint the door handles I guess. It also attracts the occasional idiots that try to "assert their dominance", but that comes with the territory.

Same story here.
(btw great year of birth )

There are many options on the market. More advanced cars, faster cars, even some more beautiful cars.

But the whole package of the Z is still pretty good. It is plenty fast to require you to (A) use the speed limiter or (B) keep a constant eye on the speed all the time.
In Switzerland speeding tickets ain't coming cheap.

The biggest reason for me was to have something almost unique. M2s and new Mustangs are everywhere. Don't start with STIs or Golf Rs.

And I am finally thankful to have a NA engine, no annoying park distance control or other electronic nannies telling me how to drive.

The 370Z is the final, last, still available analog driving machine on the market.

My dealer btw is expecting to have sold one of the last Zs ever. No more to come.

Though on the higher end.... Mercedes went out of their way to put a hydraulic steering unit in the AMG GT series though they succumbed to the electric handbrake.... booo!!!

So it's the Z and the AMG GT. At least the mustang and M2 offer handbrake but they have artificial steering.

When it comes to pure sports cars. Car companies need to do it for the love, not the profit. They have to change their philosophy. They can't build computer on wheels tech cars. Let them build those over 100k n sell them to rich posers. Keep the formulas basic, mechanical and driver centric. Let modern expression be in the external and internal sculpting.... That's it!!

Car companies will have 12 to 15 bread and butter models and two sports cars. If you have sports cars. Do it for the love!!!

Default Nissan Z Coming According to C&D!!

Car and Driver's blog talks about the next Z coming in 2019? I wouldn't put too much stock in the renderings but the powerplants sound like they are right on point with what we all anticipated (More or less).

Not feeling the concept art there... Looks like the end result of throwing a Jag F-Type and a Maserati GT into a blender.
