You're on drugs. The Miata is NOT fast. Yes, it is lighter, but it also has 200hp less and a **** ton of torque less than the Z.

900 lbs lighter =/= 200hp loss

**** interior or not, the Evo has incredible Recaro seats, 2 piece Brembo brakes, MacPherson Struts, a torque vectoring AWD system, and a DCT all for under 40k. Which is still my point. Yeah the car doesn't weigh 3100lbs but it's a 4 door economy car with AWD lol.

You guys are making some strange excuses for why Nissan can't, or excuse me, won't improve this car.

I would love to see what you bean counters on here actually believe is possible.
Justify all you want, at the end of the day, there is no Z and so apparently I'm a lot more correct than you are. By the way, I wouldn't sit in another evo if you paid me to. Worst interior I've ever seen. Once again, cost cutting to make a car sell... Until it stopped selling and was killed.

The last few bimmer came out in 2007. Our cars in 2009. The bimmer was redesigned in 2014. We look pretty much the same. In 2017. The new gen M4 is already being refreshed. Still no Z. I can't believe cars are on double rotation and Nissan doesn't have the courtesy of saying.... No we're not making a Z. I might get that Supra as a coupe. Praying it's more analog than digital like the 86 but with more power. I'm just gonna follow the Supra.
You're now comparing the Z to an M4?

The M4 is based on a plebe mobile, aka a normal 4 series which BMW sells plenty of. BMW took a normal car and built the **** out of it to get the M4. The M4 is not a stand alone vehicle like the Z.

Nissan does not have the same, unless you count the Infiniti coupe as being the plebe version. What's Nissans plebe vehicle that they sell thousands upon thousands of, to be able to offer a sport offering? Nothing? Hmmm.

The Z is a Z is a Z. Nissan does not sell enough of them for them to care. Go ahead, prove me wrong. I would love to see otherwise. If Nissan does sell enough, why are they pushing it in almost the 9th year of production? Why is there no replacement? "This car is so profitable for us, we should definitely NOT make a replacement!" C'mon...

This is happening with most Japanese companies. Toyota started it. They sold their soul sometime in the 90s to pursue extremely vanilla, boring, safe and otherwise numb cars, as that's exactly what the mass market wants. And Toyota sells TONS of cars more than Nissan/Honda/Mazda combined.

Honda is the same. Those losers are still adamant that FWD is the best and nothing else in the world should be created, besides a FWD biased AWD system. They lost all their sporty edge. The most they have is the Civic Si for the last decade, which simply just gets uglier every year and little more. Honda has finally promised us the Civic Type R, but not much is known about the North American version. Safe to say it is FWD again, and will likely cost as much as a Focus RS. No thanks.

Lexus and Acura are the same ****. No manual transmissions, soft as **** suspensions, numb steering and whatever else that makes us not want one. Lexus has been doing it since pretty much 2000.

The only thing Mazda has is the Miata, but it's not much of a sports car. Yeah it handles nicely, but it is slow as ****. It's essentially a "sports" car geared towards middle aged men that are more concerned about comfort than anything else. After owning one, I refuse to get into another. The daily ridicule isn't worth it either. From EVERYONE.

Face it. We are a dying segment. Even if there is 1,000,000 of us in North America, it simply isn't enough. Why? Well, out of that number, how many buy a new sports car every year?

I agree with you 100%, but why is Nissan still making the 370z? If they say there's no money in this car why still produce it? Why not just cut it off and let it fade into distant memory? I for one was extremely interested in the thought of a new z35 coming out. If it was what everyone hoped it was I was going to buy one. And turn my 370z into a track car due to the face I just finished paying mine off. I guess time till tell where the auto industry goes from here, but it's not looking good for us on this forum who enjoy a pure drivers car.

All I can guess is that Nissan is milking every last dollar out of that platform. That to me already showcases their initial expectations for how this car would sell were out to lunch. And I'm guessing they never recovered.

Believe me, I too am sad about it.

What makes me even more sad is that it seems youth these days have zero interest in cars. Or at least not that many do anymore. Back in the day, man, you'd see hot imports all over town. Some nice, some pieces of ****, but still, you could see enthusiasts of all ages. What was nice is that the younger youth- the ones who couldn't afford nicer cars when they were young, were buying them when they could finally afford them.

But that stopped somewhere. Or rather, is slowing down big time. And it seems that love is being lost, and we are being punished since brands want to continue making big money and as such, cater to these groups. And these groups are huge. And they don't give a damn about cars.

Well the sports coupe market is hot right now so not sure who's buying these types of cars but someone is. To me the argument about a Z not selling is just not valid. It's not selling because there are other competitors listening to their target demographic and giving them what they want.

Ford just released details on the 2018 Mustang, and it will have a 10speed auto option, magnetic ride, dual mode exhaust, more power, twin disc clutch, a digital dash, and a whole heap of other improvements. That's an example of competing and staying with the times.

They can do whatever they want to the Mustang but it won't change the fact it's a Ford.

No argument there. I owned an IS before I bought the G. I know all about falling behind the competition.

Saying things like it's still a Ford is ignorant. What exactly does that mean anyway?

I don't want a Mustang. Cool package but too large for my tastes. The point is that they are continually developing and evolving their car, listening to their target audience along the way. That keeps excitement up and improves the product. It also keeps them competitive.

Nissan isn't selling Z's not because people just don't buy Z's. It's because they are neglecting it.
