But what about speed? What about the progression of transmission technology that has allowed for automatics to outperform the shift times of manual transmissions being the reason why performance cars are abandoning the manual transmission?

What about most PORSCHES not actually having manuals?

WHAT ABOUT OPINIONS GUYS?! SOMEONE THINK OF THE OPINIONS!

Like my opinion that I'm not buying a Z for $60k no matter what transmission it has. You're welcome for my efforts in bringing the last few pages of discussion back full circle to the topic.

Now we can all opinionate for another few pages without getting in trouble.

Heard the next Z was going back to "three on the tree" to get the manual shifter closer to the steering wheel because safety. Now we can all be friends here.

We all know that eventually more than 50% of us here will potentially upgrade to the next Z. It happened with the 350z and it will happen with the 370z.

I am seriously thinking of going with 4 seats on my next car. However if Nissan comes out with the 400 hp, 3.0T, with manual trans, good looks and nice steering/handling, all for under $44K. Screw the extra two seats and I'll be in the repeat 50%.

Got my name on a list for an M2, $53,245 with 6mt, color & shipping. Due to where I'm on the list, maybe a year out before I can order. Hopefully Nissan can announce a Z prior to that.

There is no new Z confirmed..... Its all pipe dreams untill Nissan officially announces something which i highly doubt will happen.

Thank you for stating this. The only official word we got in 2015 was that they were taking a break after the 370z.

If nothing happens with a new Z before 2020, AAM will be getting a customer. Unless I find a Cayman S for the perfect price and options.

No, it'll pick up when the q60 comes out since everyone expects that engine and chassis to end up in the z35 so we'll be talking about it when it comes out.

Why would Nissan put an Infinti Q60 Engine in a new Z, when they said they want to go more fuel efficient and with a car priced more fairly..

People are seriously just claiming there is going to be a new Z when they arent even paying attenton to what is actually coming from Nissan heads themselves. instead its all speculation from some articles based on assumptions and false rumors.

VR30 (Q60 engine) is the most fuel efficient V6 Infiniti has ever made, so wouldn't it make sense to use that in the next Z (if there is one).

I hope the next Z weighs 4000lbs and has a twin-turbo charged AND supercharged V12, with a CVT and AWD.

Let's all send emails to Nissan with a request of what to put in the Z and what to leave out and to release a sneak peak at how it'll like.... Or we'll kidnap all employees

Imagine the shitshow if a manufacturer actually listened to the enthusiasts when designing and releasing a car...
