However, on the 29th January, Nissan UK tweeted a link to this article - New Nissan Z-car concept gearing up for Tokyo 2017 | Auto Express

I don't think Nissan UK would link to fake news, unless of course they're employing Trump to update their twitter feed.

Excuse me sir, I think you meant CNN.

Everything in Australia is up side down

Duc_Z09 03-14-2017 06:55 PM

Why am I not surprised?

scope22 03-14-2017 07:27 PM

I"m getting a 300zx if new Z doesn't happen...just because

Spooler 03-14-2017 07:28 PM

Who wants to afford a GTR. They are high priced and expensive to maintain. The Z fits most folks pocket book. Maintenance is cheap and little. Performance is great and the car is beautiful. Granted we have CSC issues but go buy something else. What issues you have under warranty and out of warranty is crazy with most other brands.

FERRARI 03-14-2017 07:55 PM

This is BULL$HIT.....!

"Initially it was thought the 245kW V6-powered 370Z coupe and convertible would be killed off in favour of a sporty SUV previewed by the Gripz concept"

It's best if they just retire it this year like they did the S2000 back in 08. Maybe it'll hold its value more if the Z34 is the last Z. Time to let this generation rest.

barncobob 03-14-2017 08:20 PM

I read on jalopnik(I think) Toyota has 2-3 new "sports cars" coming out this year

Yes. The 86, the Supra and the MR2

Not only that, but they drive on the wrong side of the road and the water in the toilet swirls in the opposite direction when you flush.

kenchan 03-14-2017 08:40 PM

EW needs to do down under and check out da reverse funnel action.

nis350 03-15-2017 12:40 AM

it is all about profits..... the sport car segment has not done well for a long time, the money is in the crossover segment.

UNKNOWN_370 03-15-2017 05:44 AM

I dunno how credible this is but....

UNKNOWN_370 03-15-2017 05:49 AM

We should gas chamber people who buy crossovers and priuses.

I think I'm a shop for a black Nismo n trade my gun metallic sport this year. Add a new sports car to the stable next year!!! Maybe that supra or go upmarket.

I think Nissan is scared to coexist and compete with the Supra. The M2 has a handbrake so I have hope for the supra will keep that crude tech like the M2 did?

Next gen. Your affordable sports car will be the Juke.

Now the Toyota and Honda crew could call our brand, the pansy brand. Consider the next gen GTR the LFA. The overly priced sports car in that shytbox brand.Watch the GTR start at $140,000 next gen. Smh

njobe89 03-15-2017 06:01 AM

it might come back for the 50th anniversary then. gives them time to come up with something

Ehhh that's the same site that always posts stuff a month after and usually wrong lol

Cyber370 03-15-2017 06:38 AM

Personally I don't care what happens either way. If they end the Z car line with the 370z, I'll be a happy camper and it will be ending the line on a high note. Let's face it, if Nissan were to make a new Z it would probably be on a shared platform with an SUV or something. That would not be a good thing for any enthusiast and would bastardize the Z line of cars. Mitsubishi released a new SUV called the Eclipse for crying out loud.
I think Nissan will keep the GTR and screw the rest. Which probably makes sense for them. There is now way too much competition in the affordable sports car class. Plus we should be happy since it will help keep 370z values high.

To me, that sounds like a diplomatic statement from an executive who doesn't know what's going on - the journalist has taken the statement, twisted it, spun it and created a headline for himself. Not to be trusted. Fake news :)

I could write Trump's tweets for him.

I have to respectfully disagree given the fact the writer is using direct quotes from Pandikuthira who's the VP for product planning in Europe. Those are Pandikuthira's words, not the writers.

We may not like what he's saying but there's nothing inherently fake about the article or the journalist.

Exactly. I rather they kill the Z at this point. I don't want it's value to go downhill like the 350 did.

For real? That path has long been started. Inevitable for cars like this. No big deal. If youre buying a Nissan for resale value you probably should have looked elsewhere..lol. Yes, yes, I know what i drive and i couldnt care less.

Firebase99 03-15-2017 08:10 AM

Well, if in fact he is an enthusiast like the article claims, then, let it die for a few years. 370 is a great car to go out on. Come back and make it revolutionary...again. Like the Z is supposed to do. Make the Z35 have Porsche scratching their chin again.

FPenvy 03-15-2017 08:17 AM

I don't believe it. Don't see a reason to trust an Australian article. They are always like 3 years behind getting new cars there so what do they know lol

UNKNOWN_370 03-15-2017 08:20 AM

Lol.... you guys are hysterical!!

The sports car segment is smoking hot right now. The sales figures will never be that of others but that doesn't really matter. Sports cars get people to the lot, regardless of what they leave with.

Kind of like a loss leader at the grocery store.

Soygen 03-15-2017 10:06 AM

They are not going to announce anything before the company wants it announced. The interview in the original post's link sounds like some very vague non-answers from an executive. I would take it with a grain of salt.

I didn't buy my Z for its resale value but obviously, I would like for it to have a high resale value if I decide to sell it someday. And it's NOT inevitable for cars like these. The reason why the S2k still fetches high prices its because: A. Low production numbers and B. They never replaced it with a newer model.

And what IS he saying? The quotes say absolutely nothing concrete and the article says absolutely nothing concrete. What I'm trying to tell you is that a journalist has made up a story from absolutely nothing. Re-read the quotes and you'll see.

In my terms, that's fake news.

danegrey 03-15-2017 12:30 PM

I simply bought it for I like the way it felt and ran and sexy
anyhow it is not going anywhere...
the kids are going to fight over it when I kick the bucket...
so I will enjoy it all I can till then....

Just a sham that they just let go, probably time just to quit production
then see if anything comes close if they do make another version
this one always reminded me of the 240Z

And on the 350z, damn, around here there asking 10K with over 100K

Volk Z 03-15-2017 02:35 PM

Just throw the damn VR30DTT. In a Nismo model and call it a day with some minor tweaks.
My 17' Nismo still looks sexier than 95 percent of the sub 100k cars...

Since this is already off the rails....

You all know that all news is fake right? I mean there's events and whatnot that take place but any and every angle you are shown is meant to sway and distract. If any of you actually buy into any of that :bs: your intelligence level makes me worry that you have cars that can go very fast.

Maybe a TT Z is not for you lot lol
