At least we know the GTR will be around until 2020. It's frustrating that there is still no definitive answer from Nissan as to when we can expect a new Z.
Makes me wonder if I should pick up a 981 Cayman. |

I think they are going to bring back a Z that truly goes back to the original. If we don't see a new Z by this concept/pre-production model by spring?? We won't see a Z till 2019 as a 2020 model. It will be the 50th anniversary. And would make sense. If we don't see a Z concept this spring? Expect a refresh on the base models again for 2017 models. |
Found some good news regarding the z35, apparently I think the suv/sports car "gripz" concept was a distraction and Nissan will continue the z legacy. Going back in number scheme? 300z lighter 3.0 forced induction I am all for it if it exceeds 375 to 400+hp.

I'm glad for now that there's no mention of a turbo 4 banger, since there's articles circulating around with the next engine being "down sized", "fuel efficient", "more powerful", etc.

"LOOK" We CAN build a 2,500lb AWD crossover. Expect a super light RWD sports car. |
Wouldn't it be amazing to have 400HP in a 2500Lbs package for a new Z.

:iagree: :yum: Nissan better hurry z35 or rx9:ugh2: |
The RX9 is supposedly going to be priced much higher than the old ones because they are considering it a "Luxury" sports car.

Found some spy photos of the new Q60. The front looks good, the rear not so much, according to the article they're expecting a turbocharged v6 making around 400hp. I wonder if this would be the new engine being considered for the next Z:
Here is the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe » AutoGuide.com News |
As long as this engine has been in production with it only gaining 50 HP in the Nismo version from the previous Twin Turbo Z34 from the 90"s..................... Are you guys really excited about it taking 8 years to gain 50 HP??? Unless they have a Nismo version with at least 425 HP, they can keep it. If the GTR can have 600 HP, the a Z should have a mid 400 plus power plant as well.
