I agree, but the post that I quoted said $60k for 400hp was not a lot - no other factors were mentioned.

![]() That being said I think $60k defeats the purpose of an affordable sports car that the Z stands for. Maybe I could see it if they go with the rumoured 2 engine choices and you max out the more expensive one with all the bells and whistles. Still doesn't make much sense to me though.

If they could make a Mustang that drove like a sports coupe should I would buy one in an instant, but so far I have not been impressed with any of the ones I drove vs. the Z - and I'm well aware that both of them would put down better lap times than my NISMO on most tracks. They just were not exciting to drive in the slightest outside of the first couple of rushes from the V8's power. |

That's part of why I chose the Z. I can't go 5 minutes driving without seeing a Mustang. Great performance but that's about it IMO.

Not everybody wants a straight line muscle car. Some people want a more balanced approach such as handling, braking, etc. I'm not saying the Mustang can't do these, but it seems that it puts more of its eggs in the acceleration basket.
I'm personally not into Mustangs or Camaros. I like the "sloped" hoodline that traditional sports cars have e.g. Z, Vette, Porsche 911 to some degree, Viper, etc....But I don't like the GT-R because of its lack of this sloped hoodline....hence its a muscle car in a sense....to my sense at least. $60K, again, is not a lot of money for a BRAND NEW hipo car with an all around package; Mustang 5.0s at $32K are not all-around-packages. Just my 2 cents.... |

the Max this Z could sale at is 45K and like someone already mentioned add in options most likely will add 10K. That's almost C7 Vette, Hellcat, M4 territory. Tell me Nissan is smarter then that, this car better be amazing to justiy 60K because Pre owned GT-R's will be less then 53K by the time this z comes out.

While I completely agree that 60k is a bit steep, some of the comparisons in here are hilarious.
I wanna come to your neck of the woods if you can buy a used Z34+mods and still have money for a down payment on a house, or find a used GT-R that hasn't been beat to sh!t for under 60k

Or maybe because by 2017 it's a 8 year old car (depreciation). I'll take a 55k GT-R with miles below 35k. I don't baby my Z but i assure you its in great condition all around. let's not just throw blasphemy around and say "every" low priced GT-R has been treated with abuse. Plus extended warranties are offered even on used cars.
