No monotone white or blue or yellow? That sucks. I seriously dislike the whole black roof trend. Let the people who like black roofs get them wrapped or painted. Easy. The other way around is much much harder afterwards. Its a color sodomy right from the get go.

Seems like every piece of new info I get makes me less and less interested.

I guess time will tell.

EDIT / ADD: I basically HATE black wheels, and strongly dislike charcoal wheels. BUT that is a change readily available with many choices, money, and a trip to the tire shop. So for ME, I would instantly be swapping wheels on this car for color (also for wheels I like the shape of better, and to go wider with a better offset to fix the stock stance issue). My point is, that's pretty doable. BUT, if you like the roof the same color as the rest of your car (many many do), you are basically hosed here. It's going to be an expensive "take your car apart to do" imposition that will probably never match right. So in the end I think the 2 tone top is a bad "trendy" decision at Nissan.

Placing bets now. Solid colors will trump the 2 tone in the 2nd or 3rd year of production, just to bring sales up.

Thanks for posting!

Jay calls it like he sees 'em and his car show is one of the best. Here's to hoping I get to visit his garage one day!

This is the best view and take on this new Z yet. I love the blue on blue too.

One look at the trunk says a lot! 100% 370.

More later....

At the 1min mark he says he saw the first sketches of this over 6 years ago did I hear that right? what in the world has Nissan been doing sitting on this thing for 6 years? I know their not built in a day but c'mon Nissan the car was due for an upgrade a while ago.

But it’s got a black roof?

sunkist350z 08-21-2021 02:33 PM

I think the color match roof will look more complete, if I get the new Z in that sexy blue or hopefully they come out with a orange, I will order mine with a color match roof. It looks more uniform and complete.

Design wise it is all visual.
The black roof makes the car look lower and longer.
The reveal video shows the yellow and blue Z.
Same cars but the blue looks longer.
Not a new trick this use of black. Kia uses this with the Soul.
The newer models look so much bigger due to black accents.

Hey Ghost, they increased the speed on the H3 to 60, woohoo! :rofl2: Also there's a couple of roads here where you can go 0-100 on a straight without other cars or cross streets around and 5-O can't hide. But I haven't done that for a number of years.

I was last there in 93, I think H3 was finished, I don't remember. H3 used to dead end about 2-3 miles from the main gate of Kaneohe. We'd hammer the cars to the turn around and then hammer them back until just before we got within radar range of the main gate. I liked the road to the Pali lookout, lots of secluded places for extra-curricular activities with members of the female sex... :yum::yum::yum:

Yes, that's one of the roads. I'd normally just cruise towards the gate, make sure the coast was clear on the out bound, and hammer it in that direction.

Kailua Drive Inn, was my spot with the young ladies. Problem was, you needed to keep the windows up unless the mosquitoes would feast on your butt! :rofl2:

Sounds like the new Z could be fairly priced. Pending reviews and a personal test drive, another Z could be in my future.

According to a post above from Nissan, you will not be able to get the color match roof in blue or orange, hence why I was discussing it.

See post below.

The only 3 colors you can get with body color roof are black, dark gray, and dark red.

Silver, gray, blue, yellow, red and white all ONLY come with the black roof.

Hence why I posted what I did and why I'm not happy with this poor Nissan decision.

Read my posts above explaining.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...50b378b069.jpg

I'm personally not a fan of the black roof trend either. Black roofs and vehicles in general don't bode well in Arizona summers.

peleincubus 08-24-2021 10:43 PM

Same here. Zero chance I would get one with a black roof. Just not appealing for me perhaps unless I had 6-7 vehicles and I was changing it up.
