My own knowledge from a few months ago was an official job 1 of September 2021. Basically that's roughly 36-37 months since styling was approved.
What exactly do you mean by 'the final design was established in Summer 2018'? What exactly was established then?

What I have read is they started the proto thing with the GTR redesign, GTR Proto. I really wasn't a prototype just a close design of what the actual production car was going to look like. Hence the production car was almost exactly the same as the proto.

Those teaser trailers are great. Love the 300ZX taillights and the headlights look well done too. Really curious to see the interior.

Let's hope they nailed the whole package.

I spy synchrorev. Also, the handbrake looks identical to current models.

Lol, yes looking at the center console, it's the basically the same center console just molded into a more 'modern' shape. Same location for the Syncrorev and hazard button as the current car. Not only are the underpinnings the same on this car (I can guarantee you the new center console will bolt right into a 370Z with the mounting screw holes lining up perfectly), looks like they also wanted to do the least amount of changes to the wiring harness. The knee bolsters also follow the same dimensions as the existing car just a different shape.

I feel like it would be easily possible to do a full on interior swap on the current 370Z with the new interior panels and trim pieces, only issue of course would be the electronics.

I can already tell you what the easiest part to swap into a 370Z will be; for that 'updated factory interior' look. That new shift knob. Same height as the stock 370Z one, shift boot looks to be the same height too. I would say that they reused the exact same shift boot part number, but I feel like the stitching is more white than the current Z.

I mean - for a lot of people, myself included - not having three pedals is a deal breaker. I can always add/upgrade the brakes/wheels.

I'm trying to buy a home and my Z is paid off - so no brand new vehicles in the cards - but in 4-5 years, this is definitely on my radar.

You mean this.....the 6-piston caliper, vented rotors setup! def a proto shot, there is no factory sidewall stretch and Dunlop "Nissan Z" rated tires!

precisely lol

GTR brembo brakes with a Z logo

also the wheels i feel are the Nismo. they are very similar to current nismo wheels with some tweaks.

i wonder if the base/sport will get 4 pots and the nismo gets the bump to GTR 6 pot brakes.

not gonna lie, this newest teaser showing lit pieces of the body is making me excited.

i've been concerned how bad they are gonna mess up the body styling but in 6 days we shall know for sure.

i really hope the chrome roof strip thing i saw goes away on the production model lol

GTR brakes are very nice! I would expect those to be reserved for the nismo version. Wheels look nice as well. Hoping they step up the interior quality like they have been on their newest vehicles.
