It's a 1LT (which is more than enough interior for a sports car) with Z51 pkg and few minor options for color, calipers, etc. So yeah, I could see where if the Nismo Z started hitting the mid to high 50's a lot of people may just jump to the C8. A lot of people who play in the 50-60k range for a car can typically afford to go plus or minus 10k vs people who play in the 30k range of car where typically it's a 5k plus or minus. Also most, not all, but most dealers are doing MSRP on the C8. We'll see what Nissan does with the Z. If they follow what toyota it's possible the Nismo will be in the same range as the Vette if you account for ADM.

I think they need to keep the price down. Get in under the supra and under cut sales. The supra didn't do well at it's price point, should have been 10k under where it started. I loved my old 2010 NISMO Z but I managed it for 38k which I think was an appropriate price point for it. And now and days with the HP the mustang and camaro is pushing for mid to high 30's I don't think Nissan should push it's luck. Bring in a sub 40k 400hp Z and the Nismo should be closer to 45k for a base but needs to pack closer to 500hp to compete. Give me a 45k NISMO 500hp that looks decent and I'll cxl my Vette order no problem. I'd love the Z35 sitting next to my 280z and 300zx in the garage.

The C8 is hella sweet!

If the next Nismo Z is going to be near 480hp like the rumors have stated, it will be a great alternative to the C8. The C8 doesn't have a manual available and I don't care that much for the looks. The interior is nice but a little too overdone. I don't care for the buttress with the row of buttons on it, which blocks access to rubbing your girlfriend's leg while driving, LOL. Nissan will be able to keep the price down by not having to spend money developing an engine- they already have it, and they are just going to update the 370's chassis, thereby saving more money.

The rear end is going to be straight up and down and not sloped like this rendering.

Hey, to each his own, but I wouldn't mind rubbing your girlfriend's leg while driving.

That’s not it. Parts are correct but it’s been stylized. Can’t see them putting fake (and ugly) vents on a car they made so classic looking. Look at the actual pictures. There are some that have been lighten enough to see pretty clearly.

i would be shocked if they didnt offer a DCT.

it's 2020 (or 2021/22 model) and everything has a DCT option now.

i know before it was their way of separating the Z and GTR but it's no longer a rare thing like it semi-was in 2008/2009.

if it doesnt have a DCT i may pass.

it'll have to be extremely sexy to be a 2021/22 model car without a DCT to convince me to buy it.

if it's ugly with a DCT.......i may still get it because i know what it will be capable of.

WOW! That is a great price and I do agree, if the Z is going to be hitting or passing the $50k mark - it needs to be checking off a lot of boxes for me. As for the Supra - do you think that $50k mark would have been justified if it wasn't a BMW with a Toyota shell? I think if it would have been a new 2jz engine along with Toyo's styling - most people would/could justify the price bc of 'nostalgia'. Regardless that's a great price for your vette - is there a priority as far as the production of the C8 - like certain packages are being pushed to the head of the line etc? Or is it just the 'luck of the draw'?

They removed any constraints on building right at the beginning. Originally they were only going to build the 2LT and 3LT cars first but then got rid of that. Currently they just build them by color and trim tier. After that order depends on where you were in the order line and the dealership you ordered from. Some dealers have priority and higher amounts of orders they can put in. So far no yellow production vets have been made so just waiting at this point. But mine may be pushed out to 2021 model. I put my deposit down in september but I was number 42 in line for my dealer. I think currently only 16 orders have gone through.

So I have time to see what the Z35 turns into. As someone mentioned having a manual is a huge bonus. It was an internal struggle to know I'd be giving up a manual as my current Z06 is manual. But I figured I still have my 280z 5 speed so I wouldn't be 100% out. So if the Z35 Nismo has the right power to price ratio and a manual then I'd gladly take it over the C8

MSRP. Considering before COVID hit there was speculation that 2021 was going to get a price increase, paying MSRP for a 2020 made sense. However now there is no price increase for 2021 because COVID delayed production. Doesn't mean 2022 wont. With everything going on you wont get a C8 under MSRP for several years. Demand for the car is too high.

Supras over $50K don't even have a DCT. Conventional autos are becoming so good that the lack of DCT isn't that big of a deal. Would add too much to the cost and Nissan is not going to spend the money on developing a DCT for the Z.
