[OFFICIAL] Discussion for the next new Nissan 400Z Z35?

It's a Z34 with a Q motor. Nice idea; too bad they're like 5 years late on the execution. I'll hold off any judgement until I see how well it

I honestly think Infiniti's partnership with AMS on the Q Red Sport cars was absolutely strategic. If you follow what's available for that car from cooling enhancements, I can almost guarantee the lessons learned there will be applied to this car.

RE: the GT-R, if you watch the teaser video, there's a giant gap in the middle of the fleet of Nissans... I'm wagering that if the Z was the "flagship" they would have stashed it in the middle. I think we'll just have a longer waiting game to see what happens with godzilla.

I'm cautiously optimistic on this. For now, let's take this as a win in that the next Z isn't based on the GripZ concept and we haven't taken a turn into crossover-ville.

The 370z is the only one that has had heat related issues via the oil temp. For track use, all beats are off. The 300zxtt cars had no heat issues.

That's my point! It's getting worse over the years

I'm not talking track. I'm talking about seeing 260F temps with cruise control active on the highway in the summer heat in Texas. That's just unacceptable. Does the VR really run that much cooler than the VQ? If so, then smart move.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to poo poo the car. It has potential. But damn ... people are blowing loads in their pants from the littlest tidbit of info

I love that they are coming out with a new Z, but I’m more than likely going to stick with my 370 because I know all the ins and outs of it, it looks good, and it’s being built for 800-1000 so I’m happy with what I have personally.. but kudos to Nissan!

Rear is looking like the Jag, which in turn looks like the 240. I’m interested.

Looking at the hood, roofline, c-pillar...it is almost identical to the z34

Now I wonder how new of a platform is underneath and whether they really did just re-use the z34 with a new engine and tweaked front and rear end

Looks awesome.

But how's that interior going to be?

To cut development costs, they just modified the Z34 chassis. Nissan is not going to spend billions on an all new chassis for a car that is not high volume. Throw in the V6 twin turbo from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport, a manual transmission, updated interior and tech. Done! They didn't partner with another manufacturer like Toyota did with BMW either. I believe the GT-R is going to be a goner. They just don't sell enough of them to bother. They saw the failure of the NSX which has spooked them.
