60k for the new Z is ridiculous. I would consider it starting at 33-34k all the way up to 41k. That's what happened to the Z32, they ramped up the price and they made a huge mistake.

Hopefully Nissan has learned from Toyota's example, the A80 Supra. Toyota over-priced that car and in dollar equivalents it would have matched the GTR price tag in its day. Speaking of the new Supra, I would think that Nissan will have an answer to Toyota's new car. I'm thinking that it all comes down to price point too and which target market you feel has the best chance for sucessful sales. Looking at some of the pics of the new Toyota (with a mechanical rear wing!), I would say that their car would be much higher $$$ that a revamped Z. It would make better sense for Nissan to use the Infiniti Q50 V-6 engine (405hp).
I love my 2015 white Nismo Tech AT and can hardly wait to start adding some "goodies" (i.e.: Resonators, Cool intake, oil cooler). But I will be sitting on the sidelines wondering & salivating about the next Z. Just have to wait a little longer, won't we? Happy driving everyone Figtuna ![]() |

The price point is competitive with an M4 and it would have more horses, but it would depend on it's weight if it could hang. The M4 is about the weight of the current Z with more horses and some backseats(if you want to call them backseats). If it could hang with the M4 I actually don't think that price is to outrageous if it isn't starting at 60k, but by 2017 400+ hp for a car like this should be kind of the benchmark or really close for a car like this.
I'd just assume they will use the same engine that is going in the Q60 concept they showed in Detroit that figure is suppose to be 400+bhp. 60k might fetch a Nismo version, but it shouldn't start at 60k.

65 big ones to start with and if it happens like the GTR were was targeted for about the same price tag but look where it is now, double the target price.
As someone mentioned earlier, the M4 goes for that amount and is "light" adding that it has back seats and twin turbo. I would have to see it before I speculate if buying one or not. ![]()
