Seems like Nissan, Honda and Kia all have the same wheel designer.

A page from the history books
Hopefully Nissan has learned from Toyota's example, the A80 Supra. Toyota over-priced that car and in dollar equivalents it would have matched the GTR price tag in its day. Speaking of the new Supra, I would think that Nissan will have an answer to Toyota's new car. I'm thinking that it all comes down to price point too and which target market you feel has the best chance for sucessful sales. Looking at some of the pics of the new Toyota (with a mechanical rear wing!), I would say that their car would be much higher $$$ that a revamped Z. It would make better sense for Nissan to use the Infiniti Q50 V-6 engine (405hp).
I love my 2015 white Nismo Tech AT and can hardly wait to start adding some "goodies" (i.e.: Resonators, Cool intake, oil cooler). But I will be sitting on the sidelines wondering & salivating about the next Z. Just have to wait a little longer, won't we? Happy driving everyone Figtuna |

I'm gonna enjoy my 40th z34 until I see used z35's at affordable prices. Enjoy the ride

I hope they kill the Z... then our values go up and if i like the supra tt I get that. Then they can bring the successor on.
If the new Z comes out with a twin turbo then our 370z depreciates horribly. It's the same with mustang pre 2011 320hp motor and 2011 420hp engine.... It would be great if Nissan took a small breather in between models so anyone wanting to jump ship could get out of their current z. Also I would never buy a Nissan sports car in the first production year. They've proven over and over their tranny issues are bad in the beginning. 350z, 370z and GTR all had issues first and trickled into 2nd year

It doesn't make much sense why they would release a official model at a show like TAS unless its released side by side some racing version. If anything it will be at the Tokyo motor show.

You are right...I think ppl are mixing up TAS (tokyo auto salon, January 2018), with the Tokyo Motor Show (end of October 2017).

The Q60 already goes for about 40-55k, which is already around the same price as a current Nismo. I can't see why a Z35 Z would cost anymore or be significantly higher in value because of a 3L turbo. I also can't imagine them doing anything to the car that will make it significantly better handling or weight wise. The Q60 chassis is relatively unchanged compared to the ongoing Z34 chassis. Other than adaptive dampers and engine, everything will probably be the same under the skin unfortunately, which is technically not a bad thing. The z34/r35 chassis is one of the greatest sub-supercar chassis in the last decade. We can already assume the things it wont get that will cost an arm n leg -Magnetic ride ....probably not -GTR or carbon brakes...hell no -bucket seats...mmmm no -AWD... no -GTR engine....hahahahahahahahaha...no...well...maybe....no Hell these are probably the reasons they don't have any intention on making a new model. There isn't any cost effective changes to make it worth it, its not like Nissan is leading in the sales department |

Yeah the Z34 does depreciate but what im saying is supply and demand.... the evo is a perfect example. They evo died and now evo x that people were hating are holding or gaining value due to nothing coming after....
I think the last evo x went for like 100k.. why? No idea... it didnt even come with recaro seats in the last models... If the Z died then the z34 would have no more production cars and the supply would be all that's left. Looking at what is available now for great Japanese sports cars it's slim picking... evo is dead, s2000 is dead, Sti is still there, brz.... slow... so nothing is really out there for sub 50k Japanese new cars.
