Here, they're speculating power output based on the fact that the rest of the world already has the 2.0T model and that's what it's rated for everywhere else. The US model may get a bump or it may not. Nothing is official other than we're getting that motor in the Q50 for MY2016. |
What IF there's really no new model coming out at all and it gets discontinued like it happened with the 300ZX?
Would that create a greater demand for the past generation Z's? |

what would happen
To the prices of the 370Z that came before if the new one were to sell and the rest of us sports car fanatics can't afford the new one. Fortunately, I bought mine this week...Second one.

2016/17 q60
2018 new Z and gtr redesign That was the timeline nissan released earlier this year. Hopefully it's true |
I love how heated these posts get...
As for BENZ motors going in the Z, it was released that in the next couple years Nissan will be making motors for Mercedes with this merger, they may use the blueprints of the merc engines and then actually assemble them under Nissan facilities. Both motors the 4 cyl turbo and 6 cyl TT I spoke about earlier are officially confirmed for the Q60. If we just use common sense to speculate that previously speaking the last 13 years Nissan/Infiniti 350z/370z/G35/G37 always shared the same engine then we can easily use this data to speculate the new Z will have the same engine options. This would also solidify the rumors of a 4 cylinder option and the V6TT option both spoken about. I also had to laugh about comments stating the Z has never had anything but a 6 cylinder... what do you think camaro and mustang guys think about a 4 cylinder turbo in those cars? The auto industry is evolving and if they don't they will fall. I am willing to bet anyone that 2 motor choices will be offered if the Z is not killed off due to lack of sales. |
Spooler
Since I am being "forced" to retire from teaching after 23 years (not politically correct enough for these days, oh yeah), that helped. Plus, I bought my youngest daughter still living at home a 2007 Eclipse, and I sold off part of my firearms collection, and she saw how miserable I was.......did the deal. I've had a 2-seater sports car since 1979 (6 Rx7s and still have one) and now 2 Zs. Its in the blood. Thanks for asking. There are cars faster, better looking and all that, but, where can you find so much fun in such a package for under 30K? I love this car

or you know... the fact they position the set up of the 6pot stang with limited trims vs the 4pot / 5.0... laugh all you want but i think it's rediculous that cars are being forced to go down this crappy route. should be about choice. you know... what murica built on. freedom bitches. freedom. |

If the Q60 coupe stays close to the concept (looks like it is per the latest spy pics) and has a Nissan designed 3.0TT, I'll get that, especially if Nissan decides to bastardize the Z nameplate

so they cheat the system. VW did this premetively because they know that people are now scrutinizing their product. it will be a matter of time to see if other small engine FI'd cars are in the same bs boat as them.:ugh2: |
The feds (obama and epa) are pushing everyone to electric cars. To do it. Make the emissions and fuel avg. standards so high. That the manufactures have to downsize engines and cheat on emissions. So you're seeing more turbo 4's coming out, and VW cheating (who else is cheating?). The next step is to phase in more electric cars. Believe 2017~2018 is a beginning of the end of the dino fueled car. They won't be around in 2025. :icon14: The next problem we will face is that the electric grid will NOT handle the extra load from the electric cars. By 2018~2020, half of the coal plants will be retired, and the rest by 2030. I work in the industry, and see what's coming.     So the turbo 4 in the next Z makes sense for the near future.

Nissan to partner with Mercedes? Well here comes the $2k oil changes.
:gtfo2: |
Nissan and Mercedes merger didn't just happen... it was 5 years ago... lol
Here is a post I found for all worried about a merc Benz engine in a nissan... it appears to be the other way around ;)http://autoweek.com/article/car-news...nes-tenn-plant |

And I'm not sure you have jumped into the history books but there have been national and international events that have altered the way the economy is or was. Things change. |
Since we know the z34 will come to an end, will there be any special editions in the future??

i think the EPA should focus more energy on factories, smoke stacks, and those companies that dump neon green stuff that glows illegally.
Leave me and my combustion engine alone.:driving: |

don't get me wrong... i think there are issues with the environment that need to be addressed. my problem is there are corporations / people / groups that game the **** out of the system and yet we as the consumer get punished. i still don't buy that having a 2l FI'd engine with the same output as a 3.5L NA produces less emissions. i haven't seen any graphs/charts hooked up to the car while driving to prove this to me. just these bs ratings the company provides. it's like getting stock pick advice off the internet. if it was such a great pick why are they posting about it instead of making the money? when they are doing this out of self interest and not truely for the greater development of techonology there are problems.
