The price point is competitive with an M4 and it would have more horses, but it would depend on it's weight if it could hang. The M4 is about the weight of the current Z with more horses and some backseats(if you want to call them backseats). If it could hang with the M4 I actually don't think that price is to outrageous if it isn't starting at 60k, but by 2017 400+ hp for a car like this should be kind of the benchmark or really close for a car like this.
I'd just assume they will use the same engine that is going in the Q60 concept they showed in Detroit that figure is suppose to be 400+bhp. 60k might fetch a Nismo version, but it shouldn't start at 60k. |
65 big ones to start with and if it happens like the GTR were was targeted for about the same price tag but look where it is now, double the target price.
As someone mentioned earlier, the M4 goes for that amount and is "light" adding that it has back seats and twin turbo. I would have to see it before I speculate if buying one or not. :worship: |

Noop, it is a total departure from what the Z is totally about. Very good handling, power and beautiful body lines for way less than a comparable car.

That article was bull$hit.
Back on topic, Id rather have 3 camels and goat for backup. |
Article is dated Aug 8, 2014. More info has surfaced from Nissan since then, so basically throw out that old article.

I'm not sure I would want a hybrid...putting aside the obvious weight increase disadvantage, it seems to me like one more hurdle to overcome with aftermarket
like what if you want to double the power with aftermarket support...will the battery and electric motor get in the way? Id rather keep it simple. put the fancy hybrid stuff on the gtr |

The Z is meant to be an affordable sports car. 60k is just plain BS. I'm willing to bet the Z35 will start under 40k

A new 370Z now is overpriced for what you get.
60K? No way. As an old Z guy,(owned an original 240Z,bought the rebirth 350 when they first came out, the 370...to me just the same thing Nissan&Datsun has done. Starts with a great design, ruins it by adding weight and ugly design changes etc.) I wish the new Z would take a fresh start. Possibly back to the original lighter, innovative, offer alot for the money. Again,60K will be a difficult sell as so many cars are in that price range that offer so much more. Now,if Nissan wins Lemans(doubtful),they will copy what BMW is doing with their i series. Hawk the new Z as having "features" from the Lemans winner. Used 350&370's will go up in price as the Z dream will be affordable. |
