A little bit on the heavy side but still, 100+- pounds more than the G37 at 400 hp is not bad.

Spec'ed out a m2, about the same price as the q60 similarly spec'ed out. M2 makes similar trq and about 45 less whp, but weighs 400 lbs less. BMW;s aren't really my thing, though. I wonder how much insurance would cost for each.

BMW?? But then you'd have to learn to drive like an a$$hole. You'd have to learn how to not use your flashers, how to cut people off, how to tailgate, how to park taking two spaces or in handicap zones, etc., etc. ......LOL. Zeee German cars are not my thing either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are these two Bimmer drivers at my work complex. Both of them blow the same stop sign and cut me off repeatedly. I really want them to die.

M2 msrp is only 51k loaded out I think the Q 400 is that without options. If you put both in front of me and said pick one is struggle and probably end up with the m2 based on looks and weight.

I had hoped for a lighter version (while not really expecting it), but it's all relative. Power:weight is key, and the ratio still seems to favor the driver, so I'm not complaining (other than wanting more details NOW!).
If the Q/G remains the platform, given the latest specs, I think I (and maybe many of us) will not be disappointed. Current weight plus a few kilos more + vastly more power is unlikely to result in a bad sports car, physical steering column or not. I'm ready for it -- bring it on!

Nissan better show n prove. I'm starting to think like everyone else. They dropped the ball with DAS and EPAS, And now they're bloated too? The only thing that has slight faith for the Z is that in 2011, Nissan said they'd switch platforms on the Z. The Z, Juke n next gen GTR were supposed to be on a brand new platform. And they supposedly were going to make two more vehicles in Nissan for a total of 5 cars on the new Z platform. That's the Z family people confuse with there actually being 5 Z cars that are crossovers n sedans etc... It's not actual Z cars.they're supposed to all come from the same chassis The FM platform would become proprietary to ONLY Infiniti. Supposedly, they were going to build the FM platform with lighter steel making the Q60 coupe lighter. About 3400-3500 lbs in rwd coupe form. Turns out their anemic 4 banger is 100lbs heavier than the vq.... fvckin really? So wack. All the reason why I've yet to pull a trigger on a BMW. So if this is the birth of what was said in 2011? I've little faith the Z will be worth buying if it remains over 3400lbs. Which the Z has gained about 50lbs from 2009 even though we have no no substantial updates. Chevy lost 300lbs and has that crazy 10 speed auto.line lock feature, drm, and their EPS has a smidgen of feedback, though nothing to write home about. Mustang promised 400lbs of weight loss. Smh. Slouches who don't deliver what they spew don't deserve cash.... Fvck em.

I am okay with a ~3300lb Z with the new 400hp engine if it retains the handling/fun drive aspect and has better NVH. Look at the m2, that thing weighs ~3450lbs and it's supposed to be a return to true M roots. It's tough for modern cars to be really light without being expensive or being small ( I am assuming a similar-sized z35) If the z35 is actually smaller, that's a different story.

I think the writing is on the wall boys. We need to be honest with ourselves. If there was a Z35 on the immediate horizon, there would be some news. The Z is dead.

Well that is certainly a pessimistic stretch: there's not one that we know about coming soon, so there will never ever ever be one again
