Car is going to be gorgeous, timeless, and improved in many ways. A good mix of old and new.

Did Nissan confirm the next Z will be called "400Z"?
If Nissan keeps to tradition, it's somewhat possible to be called "300Z". I don't believe there ever was a "300Z" model, it was "300ZX". Is the 400 in 400Z based on the anticipated 3.0TT in 400hp tune? I kind of feel like Nissan may offer both the 300hp and 400hp 3.0TT just like the Q60 for the next Z. Just curious, because I didn't see Nissan officially call it "400Z" yet. |

- I doubt it'll be 300Z. If anything maybe just "Z" - Yes - I kinda doubt that. A 400HP fits right in a niche of current sports cars. The Q60 is more of a luxury sports car where as the Z is supposed to be powerful, aggressive, and more of a driving first, luxury/comfort second type of car. |
I expect them to just call it Z. Doesn't make sense to go by displacement or horsepower anymore. I expect there to be a 400 hp power version, a version with around 300 hp and then the nismo. Having one car with 3 different names doesn't make sense to me. So calling it just Z would be the most logical. Maybe we will find out tomorrow. I'm pumped!!

if it's not "theZ.com", or "the400Z.com", etc, then it's not *the* official forum
|
I agree, if they just use "Z", it'll allow them to be flexible with the engines they install.
I kind of think "Z" alone sounds pretty cool. |
Honestly, I wish they would just call it Fairlady Z globally.

I honestly think Nissan would have sold at least 30% more Z34s over their 11 year run if it was called Fairlady Z globally. The below image is what also comes to my mind with Fairlady Z. When my mind starts subconsciously associating the beauty of the car with the beauty of a fair maiden, it increases the likelihood of me, a heterosexual male, purchasing said car. |
Fairlady is a stupid name that doesn't work in the US, which the original creator was wise enough to realize.
"Z" is simple, sounds good, and doesn't have any logical ties to engine displacement or power that can get muddy over time. |

With thanks to Paul_S at nissansportz.com, the UK Owners' Club, it looks like Nissan are missing just one car in their setup for tonight's event at the Nissan Pavilion...

It will be 1:30am here in the UK, but no way am I going to miss it, even though I have no idea if they're intending to sell it in Europe. Fingers crossed they will do. If they don't, I'll just have to import one from Japan eventually (they're right hand drive, like the UK). |

I expect they'll show a real driving, full interior, engine running car. I assume they'll reveal all the performance stats but I don't think they'll talk about pricing. Hopefully they do, but since it's just a "proto" car I doubt it.

I feel like we should have some wagers going. Like release date, name, pricing (if they announce that) trim options. Anybody?

My guess is it'll be named, "Nissan Z". And considered a re-boot of sorts.

It will be called Z400.
Mark it down. |

So the first reveal is tonight at 8:30? I just saw that in the 400z forum. |
300z since it has never been used before. All of the previous were 300zx.
