Just one word of caution. My prediction of a Tokyo Autoshow concept reveal is pure guesswork on my part, so it may possibly be a big letdown. Anything that's not guesswork is also not allowed under the NDA. Sorry I can't say more - I feel your pain. |
Sorry to say this gang, but I can't see how Nissan can bring out a brand new Z at this time. They'd just be lucky to survive.

Geez... I thought for sure those nifty stickers and really ugly two tone paint job was going to pull them out of their death spiral.
Oh well, I guess that’s why I don’t run Nissan either. |
3 more weeks until the Tokyo Motor Show, lets see if that one member is full of it.

toyota most recently with the supra showed how big an undertaking it is; they had to partner to get it done |

That’s assuming they build a new platform. My guess is that they use the current Q60 platform.
|
We are getting close to the Tokyo show and I’m not hearing anything. You’d think they would tease something at this point right? Anyone know something? Chubbs?
|
All I hear is crickets.
|
Dont worry.
The announcement we will get this year will be a rerun of z32 parts. Almost as good as a z35 right? Right guys??? oh. |

If this upcoming earnings report is a bad as the last for Nissan - it's gonna be a very long wait for any revision to the Z. Considering two-seat sports cars aren't profit driving platforms, the Z is pretty much at the bottom of the attention totem pole at Nissan. A pole that's right now driven 20 feet into the ground...

i got info a couple months ago that it's real, it's coming, and we will see it soon. so this lines up however i was told 2 years not next year. 3.0TT is for sure. design is done but not 100% final. obviously not in production just yet. |

now, we got about a 3-5 day window that we may actually get the news. i have inside info that was presented to me and also there's a good bit of other people (media) backing it. so we shall see. i absolutely hate how the new car has been pushed back and away and gave up on it and for once im excited again. |

But I got some info from Europe. I have a friend who's been working at Nissan in France for a long time and he told me they are not working on a new Z or a new GTR right know. I could be wrong, I really wanna see an updated model. |
Quote:
i deal with the French daily and they're utterly useless at everything. just trust me, my info is pretty solid and it was relayed that the Z is done and release is in 2 years give or take. |

honestly, if they do not announce/show one this year then i think we can then call it dead and done. |
For what it's worth, took my Z to the Nissan dealership a few weeks ago. While I was waiting one of the sales guys (younger guy) asked if I saw their Nismo on sale sitting in the show room and I told him "Yeah but I'm waiting for them to finally put a new model out."
He told me "2 years". He said he couldn't really say anything but "2 years". I laughed and said, "See you in 2 years then." I didn't take him too seriously at the time but seeing other's comments maybe there is some truth to the rumors. At this point I'll believe it when I see it. |

Seen the pictures from the auto show. No new Z in the pic's. Unless they are planning a surprise later. The only new Z was ZDay, a suv. :shakes head:
