Nissan wont kill the manual IF they release a Z. It would be nice if they just remove the Z from the lineup though and not drag their feet with the same model again with NO major updates like I said. |

Oddly the Z4 or Z5 that BMW has mimicking the Supra variant WILL have a manual gearbox... The other issue with this car is it appears they are sourcing out one of BMWs motors which to me is an epic fail on Toyotas part especially with how unreliable BMW is with those motors. I saw the print spec sheet for the gearboxes and EUrope will be getting a manual of the Supra... Lazy Americans ruining my dream haha |

have a 7AT and the car i just bought is a DCT lol |

Getting??? :horse: So with the news we have... Nissan is making a 300hp IDX and calling it a Z? Nissan rumor is a laughing stock of the automotive world. I find it funny. The midengine corvette mule was running around. People are still saying, i believe it when i see it... but wanna believe this bogus nissan news. :roflpuke2: Toyota is giving us something, though I think this old Z will still handle better? But we'll have to see? I think Hyundai will put out an affordable sport coupe before Nissan. Alfa Romeo is another last hope. It's that or get a more profitable career and buy a GTR. |

One would think if Nissan saw this thread with 273 pages and a zillion comments they would consider building it...
I wouldn't guess there is some thread out there about a Nissan cube and when the next body style/engine will be released yet they release those toaster ovens.... So stupid too because they literally have the engine to use that would place the Z above most if not all in the sub 40k category. The only so called competition in the 2 door market would be the Mustang which has little style, is heavy and every person in the south owns a Mustang so outplayed. |

So the 370Z and GT-R continues into 2019, which pretty much satisfies the small percentage of primarily loyal owners. The GT-R has the "pure" option, which eliminates a few things including $10k from the retail price. Both cars are pretty pricey overall considering how Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, etc., has evolved.
|
I did see the Green Mustang "Bullitt" which looked interesting for 46k and 475hp...
I feel like it would be so hard to drive a Mustang here in the South since everyone here has one. Some people have 3 in the driveway... Nissan could do a Skyline GTS using the GTR body like they used to with the Skylines and make a manual drive with the VR30tt.. |
Quote:
Great idea but it would still be a heavy beast. I agree about mustangs, but not everyone will have a Bullit they will be pretty special for a while. I have my eyes on slightly used GT350s that can be had right about 50k with practically no mileage. |

That's my thoughts. I mean how many here would consider one? |

I feel like I could never say I own a mustang or camaro... If I did it would need to be 60s... |

if i had a camaro it would be a new ZL1......but we see i didnt go that route though :bowrofl: legit i can get a 2018 ZL1 for 60-65k if i wanted buttttttt i didnt. |

I grew up with a 63 Vette' so I agree, Black with red leather :) Step Dad said I could drive it to Senior Prom so I told my Date we are going to drive all night instead of the lame prom :driving: and then my Step Dad sold it 2 weeks before... I wanted to punch him! lol |
Quote:
but yea i dig the new ZL1 a lot but the GT-R is just so much better in my eyes. i only went to senior prom and i took my mothers escalade. no fun cars at that time in the family. |

I mean the same body and name mustang for the eco boost as the 350R... Or base camaro and Zl1.the 2 cars don't compare. We should really change the name of this post to venting about random cars.... Imagine Nissan using the same body as the Z and they call it a gtr by slapping awd and a v6tt in it and charging 120k |

Sold 2 weeks before prom? So I assume your date ended up going with someone else?? :icon17: |

This is getting ridiculous...I wonder if it will soldier on till 2025 :rofl2:

I cornered the Nissan guy at the Zdayz deck party. Told him what I would like to see for the future. Like that did any good. LOL

probably how i knew well in advance about the 3.0TT engine :bowrofl: |
I would love to be in the marketing for the 370. *sarcastic tone*
You better hurry and Go grab your new 370z before we keep making them for another 10 years and changing nothing on them... |
More press about our Zs...
Nissan Updates the 370Z in Lieu of Delivering a Successor - The Truth About Cars |

Okay with all that being said, my take on what I heard and saw and they all were very clear that they don't know anything regarding the future plans of the 370z but I did hear them say the heritage series is a parts bin car. They need to reduce the numbers of Zs and parts. No surprise there. The encouraging thing is they had on display new suspension parts band in Nismo colors and name. They have partnered with SPL to provide them with to parts under the Nissan Nismo brand. They hinted at other products will becoming in the future. So is the Z dead...I don't think so but who the hell really does! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

I'm willing to be if a new Z came and had the vr30dtt and looked much better than ours now most of us are jumping ship.... This isn't like the 350z to 370z which bumped displacement and shortened it.... we would be talking the one big thing everyone's wanted for well over a decade pushing 2 decades and putting a damn twin turbo from factory so we have a warranty and dont have to shell out 15k to turbo this car and have no motor warranty.... |

Talking with Mike Taylor at ZDAYZ this year. He was the person responsible for bringing the 350 to fruition. We need someone like that now for the next Z.
|
With everything coming out of Nissan and the media. Nissan seams confused and sending mixed messages. Yeah, something is in the works. No, we don't have a clue.
