Am I covered?

Hi, I am going to call my dealer tomorrow but I thought I'd get a quick answer on here first.

I picked up a 2010 Anniversary edition in late october and have been loving every minute of it, except my clutch rattles quite noticeably. When I'm at a stoplight and depress the clutch I can hear a rattle, more of a spinning noise. I think it's the throw out bearing because I remember hearing the same sound on my old M3. Also when I shut off the car with the clutch in, after the motor is off I hear the remnants of the last of the flywheel spinning I guess it is and the same rattle noise.

These cars have 5 year powertrain correct? Mine only has 30,000km on it so it shouldn't be needing a new clutch already!! I better call the dealer first thing in the morning as I'm off work this week anyways.

Damn that's not what I wanted to hear.

I just went to my local dealer and the guy at the service desk pretty much dismissed it being covered by warranty he said if it's a clutch its a wearable item blah blah blah even with only 30,000km it doesnt matter, said it wouldn't be covered. I asked if a service tech could come listen to it and give me his opinion but nope that would be a $105.00 diagnosis charge to get the car into the bay this afternoon to have a look.

It's almost embarrassing anytime I pull up to a parking spot somewhere at the gym or whatever I don't want to push the clutch in to stop the car the rattle is that loud anyone walking by would hear it when I shut it off.

Completely normal unfortunately. You get in the habit of pushing the clutch in when you turn off the car.
