Default Wont' do anything

Here is what happened: 2010 Roadster

I hit a kangaroo on my way back home, car was still drive-able, took it to the repair shop and got a date to drop off the car. It has been sitting in my garage for about two/three weeks.

Just now I wanted to start the engine the usual way, foot on the brake and double tap on ignition switch. Tried the first time, car struggled to start, tried the second time car struggled to start again. It looked like battery low or discharged.

Then I pressed the ignition switch three times without pressing break pedal and somehow the car is steering locked.

Car head lights came on, I changed it to off position it still was on! The service indicator was blinking in it's usual pace. Ignition switch position light off, doesn't show ACC, OFF etc

I tried to release the lock, the steering lock indicator came on and off but couldn't get the lock off!

Now no indication light is on, except the service indicator, car locks with intelligent key but window doesn't move as I open or close the car door.

Both head and tail lights are on but at a very dimming level!!

What the hell is going on with my car?

Test the cars battery, sounds like either it needs to be charged or it may need replacing.
Jordo! and SouthArk370Z like this.

Like a multimeter test?

I was wondering if I should call someone for a jump start

Sounds like you've stumbled onto the secret Nissan "lock my car forever feature".

Seriously, you need a jumper-battery.

I'm with Trips and BGTV8 - sounds like the battery is too low to run the electronics. My guess is that there is a fairly high resistance short in the wiring that is draining the battery slowly.

Why are you double tapping the ignition switch? Is this some kinda Aussie feature for the Z? Stateside, one tap is required....

Puzzled...

How bad is the impact zone where the kangaroo hit? Could it be theres a short in wiring that was severed or parted, and depending on the time from when u parked it to the next day im assuming it lost its power

Your battery is over 4 years old. Troubleshoot with load testing it first before you go digging somewhere else.

I am thinking to load test the battery first, what would be a great replacement battery for Z?

I leave the auto light on always, not sure if this is doing anything. I was surprised that after all that drama the front and back lights were on, very dim though. Why would a car battery go flat, leave the car locked and have all lights on!!

Well new front bumber, new radiator, radiator locking bracket, and few other things.

But I drove the car after impact, parked in my garage, then drove it to repair shop couple of days later, then drove it back to home. The problem only showed up yesterday

It's not everyday I hear someone start a sentence with, "I hit a kangaroo"

Like everyone else said, your battery is shot mate.

if the radiator is damaged to the point of needing replacement i wouldnt be driving it at all.
the battery model is cast into the top of the battery. it's an 80D23L from memory but dont count me on it.

You have lots of choice in terms of brands here in Oz. i've had good success with Supercharge but that's the only time i needed to replace a battery in my almost 8 years of driving. Ive heard good things about Korean made Delkor and the Japanese made Panasonics if you can find them are good too. Im still on the original Panasonic in my car.
