Do you not have a reputable custom shop in your area? My experience has always been that dealerships dont really do well with anything that doesnt say Nissan (or any other manufacturer) on the package of the parts they're replacing.

Also, i dont know if it is different in each state or not, but when i was working in California, the BAR (bureau of automotive repair) would be all over something like this. They have specific rules and regulations for repair facilities about written quotes, and raising the original amount quoted during the repair. I know the service manager is your buddy, but if that happened, i would be willing to bet that you "legally" wouldnt have to pay a dime more than you were quoted at the time you dropped the vehicle off. Definitely something i would look into if you want some compensation for your time and aggravation.

aaaaaaaaand im done lol

Everything is off the books when it comes to a modified car. It appears he was quoted by the part/hr. Which means time spent on doing the job, no book time.

You know guys initially I was pretty upset and I'm sure I have a reputable shop in my area for aftermarket but with all these mods and on a used car I think sometimes you just have bad luck. I've always been the kinda guy who sticks with the same people for a repeat business relationship and up till then things were smooth and like I said the service advisor is about the best customer service person you could ever EVER. Ask for. If you haven't seen the related thread I started today my ac compressor went out on me today and initially I thought it was something they did but after getting some advice from a fellow forum member I think it was probably just time for the thing to fail. Even though they said they no longer wanted to work on my car they still agreed to reimburse me for the new compressor and labor. So yes I think bothparties have llearned lessons about OEM shops and after market parts. Live and learn. S***happens

Just because its modified should not make a difference. When i used to work at a custom shop, and our computer system was so crazy with that kinda stuff, if i tried to save an invoice after adding a part to it, a screen would come up and i would have to fill in the reason for the increase in price, how i contacted the customer, the time i contacted the customer, and my employee number. And thats how it should be everywhere. What happened if you came back and you didnt have the money? I just think thats so wrong. But at least you got them to take care of the AC problem.

Yea the belt started to Frey but I was in my driveway when it happened and cut the car off immediately. Smoke was coming from the exhaust. Getting it towed to the shop on Monday morning.

So why would a frayed belt cause your engine to burn oil? I dont see the connection here...

Not 100 %sure but I think when the compressor seized the serpentine belt was really struggling to spin and I think it caused a minor Frey. I don't know but I think the smoke was from the car trying to dump gas into the motor because it thought it needed it and it caused me to burn rich. I'm really not sure I'm pretty new to this. I always bought never built until now

you said it was blue smoke...thats oil burning. I think you may have just stumbled upon a bigger issue than AC not working and a belt fray
