Maintenance/Warranty and rattling noise issue
Hey guys I needed your advice on this.
Just to give you a bit of history I have a 2009 370z base that I bought brand new in 2010. The first oil change was free from the dealership. Then because they charge an arm and a leg, I decided to get my oil changes done by a gas station by my house, bringing my own oil and filters to the gas station. My car has 38k miles on it, I need to do my 30k still, but a little bit on the fence with who I should bring it to... dealership or local mechanics. Also, I have this rattling noise described in more detail in this thread: Rattling noise coming from front or front middle of 370z I'm just trying to cover my butt on this for the future just in case I need something major done that warranty should cover. I only have 1 year left of payments for the z. I appreciate any advice you guys can give me. Thanks |

Any competent mechanic should be able to change fluids* (except for maybe the 7AT) but I suggest having the 30K maintenance done by a dealer to avoid any warranty issues. YMMV
*Shouldn't be a warranty problem as long as you have documentation that the work was done.

So im thinking of getting my 30k done by a local mechanic that I trust since its basically only swapping fluids.
As for the rattling sound, I'm not sure what the heck it is. I'm going to get my 30k first. If the mechanics didnt see anything, and the rattling is still there... then I'll take it to nissan |

Damn, I love my Z too much. However it makes me wanna run the engine hot and get one of them computer duster air can's shake it up and turn it upside spraying my radiator until it cracks a little bit then run my car until it shuts off. :O
And no, don't try this unless you want hot antifreeze spraying in your face through a small crack |
