15000 mile service-$295 at dealership

Its time for the 15000 service, that was quick. The dealer quoted me $295, am I getting ripped off? Is this a good price?

Also they said the tires would be rotated, I thought you couldn't rotate staggered setup tires. I have the stock 18" on for the winter.

Any advice is apprciated, Thanks

They're trying to **** you. Most of the 15k mile service is "inspecting" items. You can't rotate staggered tires, you're correct.

holyhell... that's expensive and the only 'rotation' they can do is put your left tires on your right side, given that you are using Yok advan sports (asymetric tires).

for me, i would just do oil/filter change, swap cabin filter & air filter (if needed), visual inspection of fluids, belt, hoses, hose clams, check for any leaks, tire pressure, that's about it. nothing special to do at 15K.

:iagree: with everything said above. The dealer is trying to put it in your butt :eekdance:

Oil change, intake air filter, and in-cabin air filter are probably the only things they will actually do. Everything else, as mentioned above, is just inspecting fluids and the like.

I have a very trusted mechanic that I use for my other cars, BMW and Infinity, if I go to him will that void my warrenty?

Sorry for the Noob question.

Thanks

Your warranty cannot be voided. A claim can be denied. However, having someone other than the dealer work on the car will not cause a future warranty claim to be denied. Warranty claims are not dependant on having the car maintained at the dealer.

car manufacturers usually say to keep the receipts. doesnt void warranty for maintenance work if done by you or a mechanic.

ofcourse if your mechanic over torqued the plug and stripped the pan that would not be covered. lol
