A Nissan dealer replaced my hatch springs yesterday, and they work almost too well, lol. I'll post pics and part numbers Friday when I have some free time (and am not at work.) They are at least an inch longer than the factory ones, and do a damned good job of popping the hatch. I actually think that once they are a little more broken in they will rest a smidge lower, but it's not too bad. I think 1/16 to 1/8" is all the gap is off by, it still lines up with the rear bumper pretty well.

The dealer handled this under warranty, even though I didn't purchase the car from them. They had to order the part, and do the replacement (I couldn't just pick up the parts.) I showed them the image of the new part, and they were aware of the 350Z TSB for the same issue. Hopefully everyone else will have good luck with this as well. Like I said, I'll be posting part numbers and images later. I may scan my invoice also so you guys can show the dealer you bring your cars to, it may help things along until there's an official TSB.

I was told by the dealer that the part shown on the first page has been replaced as well. Not sure on the difference between v2 and v3.

This just started happening to me intermittently this week. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying.

I got mine covered under warranty as well at a different dealership than I got my car from. The parts are in (had a flaw in the steering wheel so they are replacing the air bag, etc) but I haven't booked a time yet to get them installed.

OK it's getting worse now, happening pretty my every time I open my trunk and starting to really annoy me.

Guess I need to try the dealer again! Hopefully this time it will do it while I'm there and not make me look stupid like last time.

Vipor, which DFW dealer did you use?

I concur, I too will need to pay a friendly visit to my neighborhood nissan. Mine's just started doing this the first time I pop the trunk daily.
Lloydy, where about dallas are you at? Had I cross path with you before?
I cross path with 3 Z, red, PG, and Silver I guess...
Vipor: Please give us the info

Just stoped at Carmax where I got the best deal on my Z. An so far the best CS. They hook me up with package oil changes for 31.61 yes Ester oil. Hooked me up with a discounted Nismo S spoiler. Anyway told them about the hatch not opening after using the new springs for the nismo spoiler. They looked at it for maybe ten Mins tops. Said no problem we've ordered the parts needed top fix, it should be in by next Friday.

I purchased my car from Jerry's Weatherford, and I highly recommend them. I had my service done at Texas Nissan in Grapevine, and they were helpful in that respect. (The salesperson and his manager I spoke with about purchasing a car dissuaded me from buying the car there.)

Read my above posts for the story, here's some pictures. There are pics in my album of the car with the hatch open and closed to show how well the new springs work.

The newest part number for these springs is 84415-CD71A, not to be confused with the 84415-CD715 from before. I'm unsure what the difference between the 2 is.

You may well have done, I've seen a MB and a PG one a couple of times now. I'm around the University/Highland Park area.

Vipor thanks for the invoice, I will be taking that in to show my dealer too.
