its such a cheap fix too, I dont know why they are complainging about it. Well if they wont fix it then you can do the penny thing and that will fix it too.

Thanks for the reply's. There is a "higher up agency" for consumer complaints, but that is my last resort. Also, any ruling by them takes forever. I will proceed to the "penny trick" if all else fails, but I first want to see what they intend to do about the problem (without changing parts as per the TSB) later today during my visit, to honour the warrany. Will keep you all updated.

wow, were i am from (ontario, canada) i just went into the dealer, in fact without the car, told them i had the problem and they said they would order it in for me. I brought the car in a week later, they came out to the parking lot and put the two new ones in and I was done in 10 minutes. No questions asked, no one even took a look at it. Good luck to you getting yours fixed, i hope they wise up!

There's a TSB out now. The process should be similar to yours from now on.

I just got back from the dealer here in Sweden and the problem is hopefully about to be solved. I simply had them try to open the hatch which made them acknowledge there was a problem. I then proceeded together with the maintenance manager to his office computer. He logged on to Nissan Europe Spare Parts and noticed that the parts number had been updated to 84415-1EA1E. There was still no TSB issued in his system but new parts have now been ordered and are covered by the warranty. So now I must only wait. Thanks to all.

They repaired mine here in Canada before the TSB came out. I just gave them the new part number and they ordered it in. They came out to look at the car to verify the problem and for the first time ever it opened properly. I told the service manager it never worked before and it figures it would work for him. He laughed. I tried it again five or six times and thankfully it didn't work properly in the following demos. He said no worries and had it ordered in and fixed along with a new center piece for the steering wheel which had a very minor flaw in the casting. Had to replace the whole air bag assembly but it was covered under warranty. So far so good with any of the minor issues.

I recently contacted my Nissan Service department in Silver Spring, MD and they confirmed a TSB was issued and they ordered my new hatch springs. I went in for an oil change and they replaced my springs and all is well.

Wlked into my dealer, gave them a copy of the TSB. Manager ordered the springs on the spot. Installed them a week later. No issues.

So, I dropped my car off for this fix 2 weeks ago or so. This morning when it was a little chilly out, I popped the trunk - sure enough, it didnt open all the way.

Im starting to wonder if my dealership even bothered to DO the swap.

Can you snap a picutre of yours installed, Steve? Im curious what they look like compared to the old ones...

Still no luck in getting the replacement springs here.

Nissan belgium(or europe?) still hasn't issued a TSB for the springs.

Hell I even printed the TSB out. but dealership said they cant order parts like that if there isn't a TSB out.

I wonder if I could buy them somewhere or something

or a nice american dealership willing to ship me some.

Well, they are not using the ones Vipor is showing, they switched mine out and shows the proper number on the receipt but they are still a bit shorter but seem "stronger."
I was pissed at first when I looked and they were short, but I checked the invoice and everything and they are the right ones.

Have you EVER had yours not open completely? Like, are they noticeably stronger?

Cause mine sure as hell didnt open completely this morning, and seemed to be opening just the same as before the swap. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, though...
