I have the new springs but they have started to fail again after a few months of use.

Today I put 2 x 10c pieces (Aussie) in each spring under the rubber cap and so far it works flawlessly.

Just my 40c worth... ;)

Yep, that's definitely it, then.

yes from what I can tell it is the weightof the spoilers. My new springs looked a tad bit longer than the stock ones.

mine is getting stuck again after getting the springs were changed =(

bah...

yah, im using pennies in mine. works great. :p

after removing the springs (just turn it cw or ccw and pull down gently) pull down the boot (use a pick tool or small flat head screw driver) around the top of the boot where it's snapped on. add 2 pennies. snap back boot and re-install. takes no more than 3min per side.

Dealer put mine in the other day, they work great, no more two button openings.

DooDooBrown 03-18-2010 07:42 PM

Yeah, mine has the issue on and off, however, whenever I take it to the dealership, it works flawlessly!!

jtroun 03-18-2010 07:45 PM

Mine gets stuck every time. I have to push the hatch release once to get the latch to release then push it again to open the hatch. If I want it to open on the first time I have to have both hands one to push the button and one to pull on the trunk so it fully releases.

I'm cracking up right now. I took mine in to have the springs replaced a few weeks ago and never looked at the "bill". They gave me a bill that showed the price for the work and a "0" balance. They actually had $18.60 for labor. :bowrofl: Wish I could make that kind of money for two minutes of work.

fullmonty 04-03-2010 04:09 PM

Mine got stuck for the first time in a while. I noticed that when I had that trunk cover it would get stuck more often and at the most I counted took 14 tries to open it.

delpozzo 04-03-2010 04:47 PM

Of course got the same problem, but Nissan Europe/Germany doesent want to replace.:mad:

s.storm 04-06-2010 09:34 PM

I also have the same problem, but Nissan/Sweden says that the TSB only applies in the USA!!? They know how difficult it is to sue them here in Europe and therefore they pretend the problem does not exist, to save money.

I will personally go and see them with the car today and instead tell them to do whatever they think it takes to get the hatch to work normally. The car is under warranty and this obligation is still mandatory in Europe. They may not change out any parts, at first, but I will keep on complaining until I am satisfied. I will update the forum on what gets done at my European end.

theDreamer 04-06-2010 09:48 PM

Do you have a higher up agency you can contact in Europe that might be able to over rule a dealership? Presenting them with the facts that the US market has this issue and you can prove you have it.
