Took the Z in for an oil change today and to ask about the new hatch springs. I called it: I couldn't replicate the issue, the damn hatch opened each and every time haha. I showed him my printouts of the TSB and the manager said he'd have a tech look at it after the oil change and about 30 minutes later, I was told the oil was changed and they ordered the part :) Not sure how long its gonna take to ship, but I'm happy that it was so easy to get the springs. Now I can use the 6 cents for uh... 6 pieces of penny candy?

took my Z in today for the spring issue they were so buy i showed em the printout he ordered the part and said it would be monday before he could order the part

^^ you guys were lucky and have good dealers that probably are in need of some warranty $$ from Nissan Corp. I had to video tape the incident at home because the first 2 visits to the dealer proved unsuccessful in recreating the issue. Again this was before the TSB was released so it's good to hear that some dealers are loosing up on having to see it actually happen.

funny how at my dealership, they said I've been the ONLY one who had the issue...I'm planning to drop my car off after lunch to have them fix it....heheh...the dealership is only about 50 walking steps from my office...heheh

Next Oil Change I will be getting this done mine gets stuck all the time. The Z has been my daily driver since April I open the hatch three times a day 5 days a week getting my gym bag in and out. Yeah the springs are shot.

Went to my local dealership today and told them about seeing the tsb on the hatch springs. They looked it up, confirmed it for themselves and said they would call me when they came in. Didn't ask to look at my car or anything. Satisfied....

Wish it was that easy for me... Took the car in 2 weeks ago, told them about the TSB. They took the car for an hour, came back, and said "OK, we'll order the new parts.".
So yesterday they call me and tell me the parts are in. Took the car in today, waited an hour, checked the hatch and sure enough it opens every time. Got back to work and thought "Hmmm...I want to look at the new springs.". Guess what I found? Yup, they ordered the same f'ing springs that the car came with, not the new longer springs! My guess is that they never even looked up the TSB, they just looked up the part number (the old part number) and ordered new ones. Talk about being PO'd... |
Go back and have them order them again, but have them print the order sheet out or verify the part number in the order.

I have this problem too
first press on the button results in it lifting abit but still stuck and then I have to lift the hatch while pressing the button or its just the same as in the beginning |
Nissan in El Paso looked up the TSB and found it and ordered the parts for me, so its out there if thy look. I guess they have a database or something where they look.

Update for the Aussie folk, the parts are in Aus, my car's going to the dealer next wed to get the springs changed.

Woohooooooo!!!! I'm going in next week for my first service. A TSB works a whole lot better than my scratchy hand-writing and a resolute scowl!
Awesome! |
