2013 370z "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on
I have a 2013 370z base with sports package(AT) with 2200 miles on it. 2 days ago i got a "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on...Went to Nissan Dublin CA, the service advisor telling me all kind of BS without even testing and getting codes from my car, got pissed went home and scheduled an appointment instead. Anybody got the same issue for the 2013's???
I checked/sealed tight my gas cap still have the light on. Driven 200 miles and still on. What should i do??? Thanks in advance! |
You should go to another dealership, good luck on the issue

take it to various auto part stores. they do free engine code checks. maybe can tell u what might be the problem.?

I go to San Leandro and they treat me pretty good there. Some of my buddies from high school are tech's there too.

Hey brother, pick you up a OBDII reader and you can check and a lot of the times clear the codes yourself. I got my reader at walmart for $100, but you can get them for a lot less.

Brand new car, I would not have left the service advisors presence without him running the code. This is the period to enjoy a new car worry free. Not looking at a ffreak in service light with no explanation. I'd definitely let the service manager know Face to face and in writing how sad that service visit was.

I'll keep that in mind! I talked to the manager and told him about this rude service advisor, he actually called the guy and talked to him about customer service poor guy got busted! He needed that! Thank you! Update: I went to nissan dealership today, they told me that my ECM needed an update, need to wait for 2-3 hrs to finish update. I hope everything works. They told me even the 2014's needed an update its a matter of time. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SES lights usually just indicate you're due for an oil change based on whatever formula Nissan uses in the ECM (time, mileage, hours, engine rpm, etc.). If you have a CEL (Check engine light), well that's another story, and indicates some type of engine/electronic/emissions/etc issue.

OP that is awesome...

Thanks everyone!
Here's an update on my recent trip to the dealership.. What's causing the "SES" to light on is an update needed for the ECM, after they did the update, they reprogram the transmission control module(thats another issue causing the light on). The helpful service advisor told me that theres a service bulletin 13-001A, scanned the computer twice and no more errors found! They also checked the pressure on my gas cup and it passed! Here's the error code they found: P0710 (Good thing i never reset this code!) NO CHARGE under warranty! Than you! |
