Replace drive belts at 30k miles?

I've always considered drive belts to be replace-as-needed items. A visual inspection will usually be enough for a go/no determination. You can find pics of good and bad belts on

But I seldom get very far from home and a broken belt is not a big deal. If you do a lot of traveling, you may want to be more proactive and replace when Nissan suggests.

I have run EVERY single car my family has owned to 100k+ without issues.
I did on the 370 only because I installed a UD pulley

Now, if I was in TX still, I'd be more inclined to check the belt regularly
