Default Letter from Nissan

Got a letter from Nissan in the mail today. Explaining that my year of 370z had been having steering wheel lock failures ( as if this wasn't common knowledge now) haha, none the less they stated to bring it by the local dealership and the lock would be replaced free of charge. This is nice because I know some people had been paying around $500 for this?? Anyway my bumper to bumper ran out 1 month ago, so I'm glad they are footing the bill and I didn't even ask them because I was going to just pull the fuse but i would rather them fix it I guess.

I haven't gotten the letter myself but I took the Z to the dealership for an oil change and the service advisor told me that there's a recall. It was for the steering wheel lock and I had it done. He told me that I'm the first Z to have it done at their dealership. They only had 14 replacement units available.

I'm guessing you guys don't need to wait for a letter from Nissan. Just stop by your dealership.

Default What VIN numbers?

Because I'm not the original owner, I'd like to know who would be getting one of these letters. Does this recall apply to "all' 2009s and 10s? Would like to ask before I try to run this down at my stealership...

Yes it applies to all the cars of those years, I've got an '09 and I wasn't gonna wait for a stupid letter. I called up my dealership with the campaign code (P3028 I think? I forget) and they set me up with an appointment for 2 days after that. They asked if I got a letter or an email, I told them neither. They did it anyway.

I decided to call Nissan dealer located across the street from my office, they asked for VIN and confirmed the next day about the recall and the availability of the part in question.

I am not an original owner but I did call Nissan USA in the past to register my name as the current owner.

I got a postcard from them too. Didn't say which part was being recall. Will have to call them to verify.

Im not sure... you should give the dealership a call and see if it apply to you. Make sure you have your VIN # with you when you call.
