New trans oil - Will it stop the chatter?
So hearing how well RedLine Motor oil quiets our engine - will "upgrading" the stock transmission oil to something like Redline's trans oil help things out?
I was hoping that people who have some info could chime in here and give the 411 on if it may be a good idea to change the oil early for better performance and quieter operation. Thanks |
It is a better oil, and makes it shift a bit better hot and cold. It won't do anything for the noise.

It will not affect the noise whatsoever.
Personally, I suggest sticking with Nissan's oil, especially if you have the manual tranmission. Other oils, even Redline, may give you notchy shifts until the tranny warms up. |

I'm still on the OEM fill, but in other vehicles i noticed the synthetic fluid being much smoother in cold weather. And the chatter is completely normal. You should hear it with an upgraded clutch and lightweight flywheel. It's hilariously loud. |
