370 steering lock issue

started mine up this morning before work for about 30 minutes. shut it down, then went to restart it...nope, can't start it.

I have a red flashing key light on the dash and a yellow key light on the side.

get out the hammer

From those that have talked to nissan consumer affairs..what has been their response? Mine failed thursday, haven't had time to call yet. What's been their reasoning behind replacing it for some models (GT-R) and not others (370z)? I'm guessing the regular joe answering the phone calls isn't going to do much either when I call..recommendations on who to ask to about this other than that person?

I never buy the extended warranty. Well when I bought my Z my wife convinced me to buy it. My original warranty expired on 16 jan and my fuse went out on 23 Jan. excellent timing. Now I haven't heard the end of "I told you so on the warranty".

locking issue - steering column

Hammer-Time....

worked!

I also wonder if the cold temperature could have caused this?

They just say they have not received enough complaints, so I ask for all of you who have had this issue (even though you fix it by hammering the steering, then pulling the fuse) CALLED! Tell nissan! It's not only for me orthr people who have experience this issue. Its for the people who are not aware of the problem the future owners.

The only thing that bothers me with people pulling the fuse is that those cars are not getting reported as malfunctioning as Nissan just thinks they must be fine not realizing that people are having to pull the fuse, or maybe they do know and don't give a **** because they have the numbers. Which is why I ask even though you pull the fuse, or you fix ur car by hammering the steering wheel and then pulling the fuse you should still call nissan!

Got my car back. It only cost me $155 for a $1300 job.

Do you know what version was installed?

Lemers 01-29-2013 10:20 PM

No I don't but they better had installed one that won't have the same problem.
