I dont believe a larger oil filter is nec better. Use standard size purglolator.

Long story short: After reviewing the used oil analyses (UOA's) on my Z and those of others using various oils for daily driven stop-and-go VQ engines, I concluded around 4.25 - 4.5K was about ideal. Earlier changes suggested no benefits and later intervals pointed to very slight upticks in wear.
I think that value range is also roughly at the median of Nissan's two recommended intervals, which I'm guessing is unlikely to be a coincidence. All that in mind, a few hundred miles up or down will not make a difference of note.

Yeah, I'm a 3700-3500 kinda guy. I just change it to be able to mess with it! I live 3-4 miles from work so......in FL heat stop and go I fall into the severe category, although I always get up to 180 before I get to work....

[QUOTE= ... On newly installed engines Nissan recommends you forcefully pump one quart of oil into the filling hole, then turn the car on ASAP.
[/QUOTE] Wouldn't that only prelube the left cylinder bank's valvetrain? |
