Default Proper Break-in Procedures

I just baught a 2012 NISMO 370Z, and I don't want to start this new relationship off by breaking the car.

What exactly are the proper break-in procedures of this car?? I'm curious because I live about 1 minute away from the Autobahn and I don't want to mess my car up to early....

nissan reccomends no hard take-offs and maximum of 4000 rpm for the first 1200 miles, and no hard breaking during that time

however, do a search here and you will find miles of debate over break in and its validity. i did my 2012 recently according to reccomendations, then gradually got more agressive, instead of just flooring it and red-line driving right at 1201 miles. i also believe that the motors on all cars are not only tested but "broken in" at the factory. this could proove why a lot of owners claim to have driven extremely hard immediately and never had any problems. there are a lot more details about the inner workings of a new engine available, none to which i can accurately describe.

Welcome and congrats.

It's documented in the owners manual. If you didn't receive one with the car you can download it online.

It's pretty much the standard way so you dont have to do anything special.

If you want to take it a bit further, get an oil change after the 'Break-in Period.'

Thanks for the input brother; This is my second Z, but my first NISMO. I've been wanting this car for years and now I can afford it, sadly though I live in Europe now so it is hard to get everything done to the car that I would like. Going to continue to work on it though.

Alonso have a 2012 NISMO and it was driven to the dealership instead of trucking in. Had 500 miles on it and I didn't follow any break in. Seems fine to me.
