Small Dimple (Dent) on the driver's door do warranty cover?

I just got my Z about 3 weeks ago and only now I noticed a small dimple in my driver's side door. Would you know if warranty cover this? Any paint-less dent repair that you can recommend in FL? thanks

My warranty covers scratches and dings on the side. I believe I paid for this coverage extra though.

Do you mean a door ding from another car? If so.....doubtful. The only way this would be covered by warranty is if you found it at delivery.

I always do a complete walk around and inspection of the vehicle from top to bottom when I buy a new car. The dealer thinks I am crazy, but I have found issues with vehicles that were caused by transporting the vehicle to the dealer. Since I never took possession of the vehicle, they have no choice but to warranty it.

From the time I got it from the dealership Its been always garaged and I only drive it out most of the time at night for break-ins. I guess I did not notice it as my biggest mistake I picked it up almost sundown.

Warranty cover a door ding? You have to be kidding. Why would you possibly think they would do that? What defect in material or workmanship would you claim three weeks after you picked it up?

Check with your insurance company.

:iagree:

A door ding isn't a warranty item. Even if it was there from the factory, at this point you're out of luck. No way to prove it.

Even if you'd caught it at the dealership, all they would have done is have their 'painless door ding' guy pull it out the next time he came around. Call your dealer and ask who they use. They'll likely have a guy who comes around every few weeks to pull dings out of their trade-ins. That guy will almost certainly be willing to fix yours for a small fee. Little door dings usually cost like $50-$75 to have fixed. Sometimes less. If the dealership doesn't know or won't tell you, hit Google or your Yellow Pages. I think every town in America has a dent-guy. ;)

No way I'd call my insurance company for something as simple as a door ding. Even if you do have like a zero deductible on your comprehensive, it's not worth submitting a claim for something like this. Absolutely not worth having the claim on your record for something that costs about the same as a tank of gas to fix.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advise. I know having it done through warranty is a long shot, but I guess it would not hurt if I ask the dealer to assist me with the problem. Whats the worst case scenario?... they would say no. Then I would probably end up doing what Augustus has suggested look for a dent-guy in my area. Thanks for the price quote.
