Steering Lock Broken, Battery Resetted. Now.. How can I roll up my windows!?
Hi,
I had to deal with my steering lock dying suddenly yesterday, I read about the replacement procedure and have already ordered a new part. My problem is during the troubleshooting procedure to try to start up the car I did the following things: disconnected the battery and rolled down the windows. Now Since the car Wont start and with the drivers key i'm not able to activate the windows roll up procedure, what Can i Possibly do while my new steering lock arrives?? I already tapped on bags on where my windows should be :S |
WINDOWS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AFTER INSTALL
If the windows do not close automatically If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system. 1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Close the door. 3. Open the window completely by operating the power window switch. 4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely. 5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete. 6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows. http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/8...-installs.html |

Looks like you're gonna have to go to the dealer... :ugh2:

I took the car FROM the dealer, they don't know supposedly about the dreaded steering lock problem, they would charge me 1400 dollars and the wait time for the part is 2 weeks minimun. Dealers on the island kinda suck.
<- Puerto Rico I ordered the part from fredbeans. great pricing / service. wished we had something like that over here. Quote:

I can fix the car myself for ~500 bucks and 10 minutes sitting upside down on the car. Ordered the part next day ship. |
