ABS + VDC & Handbrake light on.
Hey guys, I had my stock wheels refitted today after powdercoating. After a few minutes of driving my VDC, ABS, & handbrake lights came on and remained illuminated whilst ignition was on.
When the car is restarted the lights are off, but will come back on after a few minutes of driving. I'm no rocket scientist, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a fault with my VDC... I'm going to jack the car up tomorrow and have a good look around to see if there is any obvious damage, check all fluid levels, and then get a wheel alignment. Has anyone else had this issue, or can think of any other fixes? If anything is damaged I will be heading back to the tyre fitters and demanding they pay for any replacement parts required. |

If I accelerate hard my brake light will come on real quick and go off. Sometimes though it will go on for a few seconds then that will go off but the other two lights you mention come on and stay on until I turn the car off. I know I need to do my brakes so I just figured it had something to do with that.

I'll change the pads ASAP.
Whenever I down shift to 2nd or 3rd whilst VDC is still on, there's a slight grinding sound... Once all the lights come on, the sound goes away. I don't see how the two issues could be related, any ideas? |

Same issue here. Glad to see that it is at least not a unique issue and that there may be a simple solution. I have new pads all around that go on either tomorrow or next week, I will report back if this clears things up.

Brake fluid is low due to pad wear. This seems to get triggered with around 50% pad life still left. Pull a wheel off and check how much meat is left but you should be good to just top up the fluid for now (just remember to take some out again when you do change the pads).

Adding fluid got rid of the warning lights coming on under acceleration. My brake fluid level was between the min and max lines, probably about 60% of the way towards max. Touchy sensor.

Yes, it is very touchy. The brake fluid only has to uncover the sensor for an instant and it will trigger the code to disable all systems.
