Catback exhaust/cold air intake Warranty Void?
Hey guys...I was really considering upgrading my exhaust and intake to Stillen since I've heard so many good things about it. Pretty much my only concern is about the warranty and if it would be voided. Does anyone know for sure how this works? Also, with the Stillen Cold Air does anyone know if there are any concerns about water splashing up into the filter on a rainy day? Thanks...

The Magnusson Moss Warranty Act generally protects your warranty. If the dealer can prove that your modification caused the failure you might have to pay for the repairs, but if the failure is unrelated to the changes you made, they have to honor the warranty. Exhaust and intake are pretty basic. The Stillen Gen 3 long tube intakes don't have any water issues, they drive fine in very heavy rain. |

Thanks man, I appreciate your reply. So at the very most.....if something were to go wrong with my engine.... they might be able to prove that the cold air or exhaust contributed to the problem? This is nice to know. I think I will go ahead and get those upgrades. I saw a thread on here were some guys put on the cold air them self. Would you recommend that to a person that doesn't typically do those sorts of things? It seems like it wouldn't be too difficult.

I see thanks for the advice. I just thought will all the threads and what not, it makes it easier. And also I have a service manual which i'm sure must have some section on the intake. On my SER sentra I did watch my mechanic install the Nismo intake on that. From what I've seen the still would require you to enlarge the holes for the tubing. As for the exhaust I feel less inclined to do that myself.
