I've been driving for over 50 years and tried all kinds of aftermarket blades...most are crap. OEM blades are the only kind that I have found to work with any make car. Seems to be especially true with Japanese cars. I've owned Nissan's, Honda's, and a Toyota and tried all kinds of aftermarket blades on them and none work as good as the ones made for the car. Here in Chicago they are really put to the test.

A damp rag with armor all does wonders on keeping your blades almost like new. I swipe mine every time I wash my car. A year and a half later my wiper blades work perfectly.

My local Nissan Parts Dept gave me crap about refills not being available or order-able, kinda pushing me towards getting the whole wiper arm for $45 each. No thanks. I found the refills online from Nissan but they wanted $11 each plus $15 for shipping to Hawaii. No thanks. That's why I ended up with those Trico and have been using all week, they work great; full windshield coverage, no streaking, and very quiet.

Bumping this because the OEM replacement/refills are available on Ebay - with free shipping if you look hard enough!

I put some TRICO Force wipers on my 2011 sport coup, and they worked great... until the dealer threw them away and replaced them with cheap generics that block the spray nozzle during the 30k maintenance (which was a total waste of money. They charged me for rotating the tires. Yes, they did. And used non-synthetic oil. Never going to Kelly Nissan in Woburn ever again for service, but I digress). Fortunately I kept the OEM blade assemblies.

Nissanpartszone lets you put in your VIN to get exact parts. The numbers listed previously in this thread don't match my car, I just ordered these based on their VIN part matching:

28895-1MA1B
28895-1EA0B

I actually got four of each to drive down the shipping cost. It's not as if I won't use them.

This is what I get for purchasing cheap wiper blades. Going with the Rain X Latitude.

okay, so i learned this the hard way of buying the wrong ones and then having to make a second trip back to walmart and exchange.

rain-x has different types of wipers. the ones i bought originally were the "conventional" wipers, which had the issue of not laying flat on the glass pointing towards the passenger side, and also the top of the wiper kept hitting the wiper arm. i thought i was doing something wrong, as it has never taken me 45 minutes to replace wipers.

turns out, if you decide to go with rain-x, get the latitude ones, as they aren't tall enough to touch the wiper arm and the form of it will lay flat (the wiper blade adjusts to the shape of the windshield).

Bosch Icon. They are a bit on the higher price (20-24) each side but great wipers. Thick but bendy and contours windshield nicely. Last for a long time depending on your climate.

I just realized I wasted 1/2 hour reading a 5 year old thread about wiper blades... WTF. I'm going to get some sleep.

kenchan 03-17-2016 07:34 AM

lol.. nissan abandoned my 12yr old G so i had to order up some piaa's the other day. at least those the refills are replaceable and a lot of places carry them.

carlitos_370z 03-21-2016 08:31 AM

have to do this in a few months looool! soo im going to buy the refills :p

kenchan 03-21-2016 09:32 AM

yah, i installed the piaa's yesterday on my G, and while they look factory not a full coverage (wipe) on the passenger side due to glass curvature.. but this was kinda expected... :shakes head: might just get an inch shorter blade version for dat side.

carlitos_370z 03-22-2016 06:20 AM

Thanks for the advice bro!

kenchan 03-23-2016 07:51 PM

Hey I tried that PIAA blades on my G this pm in the rain. It wasn't bad the coverage is pretty close to factory at the far edge. But if there are oem refills available for ur ride, don't bother with these.

kenchan 03-24-2016 10:05 AM

another thing on the PIAA's. it comes with this little packet they tell u to apply on the glass prior to use. instead of that crap, i would use rain-x.

reason being, their crap might allow the blades to operate smoothly, it does NOT bead and run off any water even at 45mph. not good.

carlitos_370z 04-26-2016 06:52 AM

Already buy my new wipers refills! I hope they fit loool! well at least i put my VIN # and they suppose to fit :)
