Oil Change mistake at Dealer, Opinions?

Unfortunately mistakes do happen. Glad the dealer admitted the mistake and has taken action to make things right. Originally Posted by dirtrat Went back to the dealer today after talking

They have to replace the rubber seal around the engine bay/hood because it was saturated with oil. They had to order it and it will be one more trip to get it replaced. At least they made everything right by this mistake.

Not always the case.

My dealer gave me free oil changes for life with the purchase of the car.

Amen to that... Changing your own oil allows for you to
1. Not ruin your side skirts putting on a lift (this happened to me with my Airwalker sides from Japan at Nissan)
2. Put in too much oil or not enough oil
3. Tighten the oil drain bolt to correct torque specs
4. Put the Oil cap on and tight
5. Put the correct oil weights in
6. Check level to make sure it is where it should be
