I purchased a 2011 Nismo 370Z from Ramsey Nissan on May 23. The only negative was the tech who did the PDI forgot to set the auto up/down on the passenger side window. I had a wierd schedule that week and did not drive the car at night until 3-4 days later when I noticed that none of the interior backlighting (lights on the radio, climate control, etc) worked.
Trip #1: I looked over the FSM to get an idea of the problem and took the car to the dealer a day later. The dealer stated the problem was a loose ground. The interior came back dirty but I really didn't care as I thought I wouldn't be going back....... 2 days later I'm backing into my garage and the interior backlighting goes out again. I look up the ground location in the FSM, take a look, and find it to be tight. I then said to myself I bet it's just bad luck and I got a bad fuse. So I find the fuse location, pull out the fusebox by the battery, and find that someone had already replaced the fuse. This was obvious because the replacement fuse was not the correct compact type. So I replace the fuse, turn on the interior lights, and the fuse blows immediately. Now I'm thinking , how does a loose ground turn into a short. Trip #2: I return to the dealer, explain the problem and what I had found. They give me a loaner figuring that it may be a lengthy repair. I get a call from the dealer stating the BCM is internally shorted and will be replaced. A day or so later I get a call saying the BCM "slowed down the short" (BS) and they are ordering a interior wiring harness. I get a call back in the middle of the week saying the car was ready for pickup. My service advisor also stated the tech found damage to the wiring harness upon removal and the new one solved the problem. This is when everything goes downhill. Upon pickup I find the technician scratched the crap out of the center console, the shift boot suround, the radio surround, and the passenger side knee pad. The drivers side skirt is scratched in several places through the paint, the chassis is scratched on the drivers door sill, the clock isn't reset, the passenger side window isn't reset, and the radio isn't reset. I get the service manager, somehow resist the urge to kill everyone there, and show him the problems. I'm also stressed out b/c I'm moving in two weeks and need to get this fixed. Now despite my better judgement I leave the car with them one final time. Trip #3: I was pleasantly suprised (Thank god) as the damaged portions of the car were properly color matched and all the scratched panels were replaced. The dealer also sent me a $270 "motor vehicles" refund. I still was somewhat dissapointed because no one offered an apology for what had occured. Overall I would not advise anyone to bring their vehicle to Ramsey Nissan becuase they obvious do not care about retaining or building customers through quality service.
