Conventional oil void warranty?
So I own a NISMO, and have been using conventional for the last 5 oil changes religiously at 3k miles. I just had a service guy tell me that NISMOs REQUIRE their synthetic blend and it could void my warranty without it. I've never heard this before and think it's a load of BS. Anyone ever hear anything like this?

Not true. The 370 does not require synthetic.

I believe that synthetic is "recommended by Nissan" not required, if this service department has any other information from Nissan requiring it then he should be able to provide it to you.

Dunno about the 09's or 10's, but the 2011 manual just says the oil requirements for 370Z, Nismo included, are 5W30 oil that is API-certified and Service Classification SM. Synthetic oil not required - they don't even try to plug Nissan-brand oil (although there is an ad for Nissan oil filters in the service/maintenance manual).

Any oil that has the API starburst on it and meets the current API service classification will be perfectly fine. No advantage to synthetic if you're going to adhere to Nissan's drain interval recommendations. Group III base-stock oils have such reduced need for VI improvers that VI breakdown from shear or heat just doesn't happen.
