P0037

Hey there, Seem to have just gotten a P0037 CEL code -- indicates low heater circut on bank 1 O2 sensor 2 (post cat). Possibly fried due to test pipes???

Default P0037

Hey there,

Seem to have just gotten a P0037 CEL code -- indicates low heater circut on bank 1 O2 sensor 2 (post cat).

Possibly fried due to test pipes???

Anyonw else had this issue?

Any chance the dealerhsip will warranty it, or not with TP's on?

I can say they definitely will not warranty the o2 sensor if they see test pipes, especially when the downstream o2 sensor bears the brunt of having no cats. I would install your stock cats if you plan on trying to get them to cover it under warranty as o2 sensors are not cheap!

Yeah, that's what I figured...

Has anyone else had this CEL before? Search turned up nada.

I would clear the code and see if it comes back again..... which it will if you have a faulty O2 sensor. There was a thread here a while back, but I couldn't find it either.

Had to use the Google search as "o2" won't work... nothing clearly points to it. Seems no one has reported a P0037 before?

Sonnovabitch... I'll have to see what one of these costs just in case I need to rreplace it. What a ******* pain in the ***.

Try the 350 forum. But you will likely need to replace the 02 sensor.

Haven't seen it on the Z, but just had a a variant of it on my truck with P0161. Check the wiring to make sure nothing moved and melted, otherwise it could be a bad sensor. The good news is that sensor is very easy to replace yourself and only costs about $100 from rockauto.com.

I found it for $150 -- I'll have to shop around some more. Is it the same p/n for the 350 and 370?

Is this a common problem? No one on here seems to have had this happen yet?

EDIT: Wow -- thanks! Yes, found it for $92 and change plus shipping. Like $102 shipped! Awesome!!!

EDIT #2: Wait -- this is probably generic part -- just as good (which I guess means nothing considering the new OEM part failed )?

You would find more information if you search po037, that is p o not p zero. Other than that, replacing the o2 sensor should fix that problem for a little while but I would be worried about the test pipes killing it again somewhere down the road.

Rockauto.com has the NTK which is a good brand for German and Japanese cars, equivalent to Bosch. That's what I used as a replacement on my car when the O2 sensor got destroyed during removal from the stock cats, no problem so far.
