Ive had a sensor code with cel aswell ever since my TP install. just went to dealer to day and ordered me a new one. My guy at the dealer was cool simply said the upper O2 had nothing to do with lower install so he warrantied it for me yes....;);).

Interesting -- so it was the primary one that failed, not the secondary?

My code is for the secondary O2, post cat.

Any problems since? Maybe this is just a fluke...

Yea for some reason its the primary, I was also told some Zs get flukes with cel lights.. Hopefully when i sawp it itll go away 100%

Hmm. Well, please keep me posted. Good luck!

Quick follow-up:

Replaced with part from Rock auto -- all seems to be well.

Inspected the O2 sensor, and it looks like on one wire the nylon boot and plastic outer casing had melted or somehow had gotten torn (rock flying up maybe?), exposing a small section of bare wire -- looks like that was the cause of the CEL.

Great! Glad it was an easy fix.

Thanks!

I'm just glad I was able to find a clear cause... I was a bit worried this would be some weird electrical gremlin that would keep cropping up...

I just got this cel. Which sensor should I be inspecting or replacing?.

It is the sensor that is in the end of the cat. The wire pigtail goes to a connector mounted to the bottom of the transmission but they can easily break loose.

Bank 1 is the passenger side.

Ooh so it would be the easiest one to get to. Good!
