Clutch problems
My clutch pedal got stuck on the floor, checked the clutch fluids and all. but it just won't work. HELP PLEASE Any of you encountered the same case?

Try bleeding it first (with new fluid). If that doesn't work then the CSC will need to be replaced by the dealer. It requires the transmission to be separated from the car like you would for a clutch replacement (read big labor charge unless covered under warranty).

Try the dealer first- it shouldn't be giving you this kind of problem in cold weather unless you are really feathering the hell out of the clutch.
If the dealer says it's fine, it is time to upgrade to a stainless steel clutch line and some motul rbf600 fluid. |

Manila doesn't have cold weather, it's practically on the equator. They have 2 seasons, hot, and hot and wet.

Haha, I didn't notice- fair enough!
Looks like a clutch line and fluid upgrade is in the OPs future (if the dealer says everything is fine). IMO, it doesn't hurt to switch the clutch line and fluid out anyway, it's a cheap and effective mod. |

Clutch Issue
How many miles are on the Z?
The clutch slave cylinder (CSC) is one of the weakest links in the the manual transmission of the 370Z/350Z. The throw-out bearing is the second weakest link. I have had both of these parts replaced under warranty in my previous 350Z;first the clutch slave cylinder (2 replaced) prior to the throw-out bearing. A vendor (Zspeed) has a different clutch set-up (seach:zat zuma post on the Z speed HD CSC) that may be a better replacement once the csc goes. Last edited by 37Z; 02-11-2011 at 07:01 PM. Would this be under warranty?
This happened to me couple times... I thought it was normal because of the cold weather. I should visit my dealer.

my clutch pedal dropped to the floor too. pulled it up and still dropped to floor if stepped on. had to tow to dealer. clutch fluid is empty.
dealer say could be slave cylinder. i think something like that too. y would a clutch fluid be empty so fast and how can a clutch go out in under 2yr. i drive normal. no racing or peelouts or anything crazy driving. i got 23k on it. so towed to the dealer and they diagnosed its the slave cylinder so it is under warranty. they had to wait next day to order that part as it is late. so the next day they call me and say in order to see if warranty covers it, they have to open and check the clutch that i dont abuse it to cause the problem. so they need my permission to check. and itll be $700 sumthing to replace if it is the clutch. also need add $140 for diagnosis and $20 a day for loaner car. if no abuse then everythgin will be covered. well i got no choice but to give them permission to check, if i dont then they cant warranty the slave cylinder problem. so i gave the permission to check but im still worried if clutch could be messed up even tho i think the clutch is fine as i think im the best at driving manual. but luckily clutch aint, slave cylinder was the problem so its all covered. now the clutch pedal is stiffer than when i got the car brand new, that i can remember of at the time, before was softer and i didnt realize til clutch dropped to the floor. i suck at writing so hope u guys can understand my story of what i wrote.

^^ Same sh*t happened to me last summer. Bad a$$ experience. I was on the highway probably about nearly 2hrs away from home when it started to happen. I kept trying to drive the car even with the clutch pedal totally depressed to the ground making it extremely difficult to shift without grinding. Thank God I made it home safe & sound. The car actually went on limp mode not allowing me to rev above 4k I believe. I realized that if I let the car cool down, the clutch pedal would slightly improve, but when you start driving maybe after about 30 mins, it'll eventually start depressing again. Checked the clutch fluid & it was gone. I added more fluid & just took the car to my job & back which is 15mins away the following few days. I re-checked the fluid after 3 days and it was black (darker than usual). I have Long Tube Headers & I'm thinking the pipes sit next to the CSC exposing heat causing the fluid to evaporate. I went to my dealer & explained the situation. The tech (my tech when in the dealer) that usually works with my car bled it with new fluid. Afterwards, I ran the car and no grinding noted. He told me if any problems re-occur he will change the CSC. Ever since that day I've been frequently checking my clutch fluid & it's always on point. No color change noted with levels within range. It's almost a year since that happened & no further issues noticed. I plan on having my headers wrapped though because I never knew how much of an impact heat can have under the hood.

i dont got any mods and it still happen to my car. so ur header may not be the reason. car was at home when it was depressed, it didnt happen once when i was driving so good thing it was at home. and after the next day clutch still didnt go back up. no choice but to call insurance for tow truck to the dealer.

This just happened to me last night, i'm taking it to the dealer on monday. Car has 2700 miles 2010 sport touring. I hit massive traffic and when it cleared up the clutch got stuck, I had to drive the rest of the way with this making it hard to put in 1st gear but thank God I was like 4 min from home. When I got home I turned the car off and pulled the clutch with my hand, it released and i stepped on it a few times and it didn't get stuck. I'm gonna start it up in an hour, will let you guys know what the dealer says on monday.

Just wanted to update. I drove the car today with no problems!! I'm still taking it to the nissan service dealer on monday will let you know then what they tell me.

This happened to me last night during a rain storm. My clutch just went soft at 16,700 miles on the z. This morning on the way to get clutch fluid It depressed to the ground but there was no grinding noise. The fluid was ALL gone. I haven't had the car an entire year yet. I filled it up to the max and am constantly checking through the day to see what the fluid level is. If it drops even a little the dealer will be dealing with me.
Side note: I baby the **** out of my car.
