Trouble Code P0104
Hi all. I have a '10 nismo with only ___700___ miles. engine light just popped on. code was P0104 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Intermittent
anyone else experience this? is it a big deal? could it be the gas cap or strictly related to air intake system? i am planning on replacing the base air intake with the stillen gen2 but not for a few more months. should i just take her in? is it safe to drive? i cleared the code because i thought it was just a gas cap issue but after reading further, it may've been a mistake to do so. if the error is a continuous problem will the code reappear and will i have to wait until then to take it in? it's hard for me to recognize any symptoms this early as i haven't really grown accustomed to the car yet and i have been driving it especially carefully beyond my more typical driving habits. :/ any info is greatly appreciated. -pensun **Update Air filters look fine. Can anyone tell me how to access the ventilation point for the intake housing (or at least where it is)? I am taking it in next week. I was told it is safe to drive but I may notice low-iding and potentially experience a stall. So far, no stalls, but the idling is around 600. I have been told that the MAF sensors are fragile and so I could have gotten a slightly damaged or faulty one from the get-go. I popped them both out to carefully observe any potential oddities and everything looked absolutely fine. I was afraid to do anything further like carb cleaner application or even blowing on them. After clearing the code twice, in the last week, it's back on again. It always alerted me on a cold start. Lastly, after a 20-25 minute test drive with obd logging, i noticed that short-term fuel trim bank2 sensor2 was _occasionally_ offset abnormally from bank1 sensor2 on a few peaks in the graph. for example, 90%, 10% or 65%, 17%... more typically the graph levels increased and decreased at proportional rates with a delta of about 10%. Not sure this is normal, but i thought i would offer it up. Last edited by Pensun; 07-28-2010 at 06:08 PM. |
