oil change at the first 3k miles, how much does it cost?

a local dealer asked for $90, is that too expensive? I noticed it will be around $30 for other Nissans~

Nissan Ester Oil is about $12/qt so $90 is about the price you will pay for an oil change at the dealer. Ester Oil is recommended for the 370Z.

Yikes, $90 oil change. I bought the service plus maintenance, I'm starting to think it was worth it. I change every 3k miles, but would probably go 5k if I had to do it myself. I think you can go up to 7k with this oil, can anyone confirm?

It's definitely not ester, but where do you get that it's not synthetic? It doesn't come out of an oil well.

I paid $92 for the first oil change. Went to the standard oil on the next change and paid $32. Don't see any differences at all. Supposedly the ester is supposed to help quiet engine noises, but IMO, it's a load of crap.

Mobil one is a full synthetic and a lot cheaper than your snake oil that doesn't make a bit of difference.

Oil doesnt have to be 100% synthetic for the company to call it synthetic.. Mobil 1 is not 100% synthetic

The questions are:

1) How long do you really expect to keep this car... and
2) At the end of the day, are you going to get anything more for your money (i.e. increased performance, increased longevity within the time you are planning to keep this actual car).

In the end, I'll probably hold on to this car until it reaches 100k or so miles, so it would be wasted money for me. The car won't be worth any more, and the engine will last long past 100k no matter which oil you choose between the two.

I'd just get Certified Pre-Owned Oil, so much cheaper than getting NEW oil every time. i mean it gets dirty anyway right! and its not used, its pre owned.
